Is this a travesty? Does this just dismiss all logic? Elective surgery for a convicted killer ( and it is elective ) ?
The fact the Huff Post article seems dismissive of the need is some consolation. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_58...b043ad97e3b7c1 |

The only thing surprising is Scott creating the thread. Not surprised this happened in CA at all.
Scott, aren't you a liberal who defends this kind of stuff? Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else...

The Eighth Amendment:
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." I don't see anything in there about the right to gender reassignment surgery. Bizarre interpretation, so out in Mars. Amazing how a convicted murderer can get better (free) healthcare than the guy working 18 hours a day to put his two kids through college. The surgery cost about $100,000 by the way. |

I know the issue with babies that are born hermaphroditism and that is where my sympathies lie. The other crap with Bruce Jenner is just wealthy people being selfish. Politically I'm against lobbying, politicians getting pensions, the way local zoning laws are enacted - though a big proponent of historical building committees. I'm kind of center, believe cops should be able to stop and frisk - ask for I.D.. But think South American immigration is more complex then just building walls or forceful repatriation. |

Great. Meanwhile, my insurance denied antibiotics my GI doctor prescribed for me to deal with my H Pylori issue in my stomach. You know that bacteria that is known to cause ulcers and increases the risk for stomach cancer.
My GI doctor thought my insurance's decision was so ridiculous that he scrounged around his office to get me enough of the necessary pills needed for treatment. |

They pay for the surgery..... but the question is: do they pay for the anesthetic?

Is this any less bizarre?
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/256007...d-on-facebook/ A woman in Britain is on welfare, and gets fully state-funded gender reassignment surgery. She decides she wants a kid, so she stops prior to the addadictomy, to (angrily) get herself pregnant, because the state funded healthcare system won't pay to freeze her eggs for a later birth. All of this funded by taxpayers in the U.K., who will also now pay for her kid. Another downside to socialized medicine....
