V3 PROcede - 1,2,3 Quick Review + 2 videos

Please direct any technical questions to Shiv and Dustin @ Vishnu. I didn't even install the V3 although they gave me an overview (many improvements in regards to the harness and the new sensor intercepts). I did, however, contribute 1,000 miles on my cars odometer to V3 R&D, and did so gladly, so I hope you all enjoy it!

1) Power: The most notable improvements here over 2.02 are definitely power delivery and curve. V2 was a huge step up over 1.47 thanks to dual solenoid boost control. V3 is the next stage and delivery is very direct thanks to the new boost control logic. Throttle modulation tranlates very predictably into power to the wheels. I think Scalbert had said 50% pedal angle, 50% boost, that was well described. Low end boost comes on strong and high end holds strong, it's just steady, solid power from start to finish. I took my brother for a ride (he also road in Vishnu's Evo X yesterday with me, which runs 12.4, 1/4 ET mind you) and he said it felt faster and described it as "head snapping power".

2) Stability: One of the things I noticed is that at low throttle you don't get any boost spike where it feels like it's boosting to make power rather increasing in RPM's... Due to this I think we may see better gas mileage, not a bad deal when 91 costs $4.00/gallon. Better than that, V3 feels very at ease with itself. It doesn't seem to be as inhibited by increased oil temps or intake temps. It just feels like it belongs, like it is comfortable, you don't feel like you are pushing the car at WOT, you feel like you are releasing it.

3) Conclusion: I really want Downpipes and Intake!

Enjoy. Procede.

EDIT: Just went for a hot lap with my friend to show him the new tune... I like V3 more and more as I drive on it. I ran a full speed 0-60 and it was way easier to control than my V2 launches (once i lost to a 350z in first gear due to traction, then smoked him shortly thereafter but that would not happen now). We hit a few drifts as well, along with a 25-140 pull that blared by in seconds. He commented on the smoothness even being noticeable from the passenger seat. I can't wait to datalog this, it feels really solid.

Breaking traction with RE0-1R 275/30/19 series tires:

I saw the 27mpg snapshot of your dash in the v3 thread. Nice. I'm getting ~24.5 driving it like a grandma! The increase mileage will be a plus!

Is V3 faster than V2?
V3 + some supporting mods should be a lot quicker than 12.4 to match the quickest 335s.

I've only run a 12.3 or something like it. But traps where nearly 117mph. That is a more powerful feat than running a 12.0 at 114mph. MHP shows power. ET shows driving/traction.

shiv

ps. Yes, v3 makes more power than v2. For a number of reasons that will be explained, through logs, as this week progresses. Way too much info to type up in one sitting.

Thanks, that sounds excellent.
I assume it could address various aspects in addition to power getting the 12.3s enhanced. That would be nice. But let's wait.

Edit: oh, I hope someone of us Procede customers have driving skills.... and also brains enough to complement the power increase by the means such as tires & suspension & LSD to get it down too...

I think where you'll see big power gains with this one is with supporting mods, and maybe race gas, but I like the sounds of the new boost logic. That's always one of the hardest parts of driving a turbo car fast, modulating throttle/boost in first/second gear.

An attempt to load 2 quick camera phone videos running only v3, no other mods. The firs run is 15-70 with a sloppy shift (tryint to hold the camera phone on the steering with one hand) and the second is pulling out onto a street and fish tailing.

I know the camera work sucks, but let's see you kick the rear end out one handed with 400+ hp

With the V3 PnP, can someone explain in laymen's terms what exactly needs to be connected? What is a slide-in connector? Do you know pull out like 3 plugs and put in 3 procede plugs? It seems this harness is great, but I just can't conceptualize what exactly makes it so great due to my lack of knowledge with regards to ECUs

The ECU is a box, with sub connectors that wire it into the car. This new design allows you to just remove the stock connectors, wire in the procede connectors, and plug in ground, power, and switched power... before you had to actually remove little wires 1 at a time.
