steering wheel problem
I have e90 320d 2 years old
Two months ago I had problem with my steering wheel, when I was turning it there was some strange squeaking noise. I went to service and they changed something in my steering wheel. After that my steering wheel is much more lighter, I mean it's much more easier to turn my wheel while I am driving my car. Beside the thing that I don't like that feeling on my sport wheel the biggest problem is that I can feel every bumb on the road on it. On every bump on the road my car starts to change a direction and my wheel starts to turn...I have to hold the wheel realy hard all the time. My car totally lost that great hadeling which BMW is famous for... I went back to my dealer and they checked my car and told me everything is ok...I don't know what to do any more ![]() Anyone else with similar problem??? |

Similar problem in that I have the squeaking noise. Different from you in that I did not take my car in to get it fix. There is nothing better then factory fitting. Yes, the noise is not fun to hear but it is a sacrifice I would take over having my steering wheel disassembled and may never feel the same as factory. Not many BMW tech cares about your car when they work on it so there are some expectation that the condition of the car might not be the same after it goes through service hands. Now, there are certain things that is out of the tech control like if they must use a different parts to fix an issues and that new part might not performed like the old factory part (this could be your scenario).
The way I look at my problem is some day the squeaky noise is there and some day it is not there. Just like people, some day you are happy and some day you are sad. Nothing is perfect so I have to draw the line and decide which option I want. I wanted to keep the factory feel of the steering wheel.
