What upgrades should i do to my E90?
I am new to this site and recently got a 2009 335i Sport Pckg. I was wondering what I can and should do to upgrade it. I already installed a new exhaust and a cold air intake. I would really appreciate the suggestions. Thank you

Are you looking for performance or exterior/looks? P.S. If I was in your shoes I would do right away a jb4/mhd/cobb to get +100hp just like that for starters. Then depending on stock wheels - would swap them for something really concave and nice and get wide tires, then I would tint a car to my taste Last edited by n55jb4; 01-17-2017 at 02:18 AM.. |

It depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for performance I agree with what was said above you can't beat a Tune, nothing will make as much of a drastic change as a tune does, it will your 335 feel like an absolute monster. Besides a tune downpipes, a front mount intercooler, and some lightweight wheels and sticky tires are where I would spend my money.
As far as Exterior mods go, I like the look of the M3 rep front bumper and side skirts, black kidney grills, vinyl wrap your roof and black out your window trim. From there the sky's the limit, you could get a carbon rear diffuser, carbon mirror caps, etc.. and if you're feeling real crazy you could do a complete M3 widebody conversion. And last but not least if you are interested in doing some interior mods you can't beat the BMW Performance wheel and shifter, you will touch then every time you get in your car and they make the driving experience so much more enjoyable |

Before you tune it, make sure all of your maintenance is up to date. When was the last time the following was changed?
Oil Transmission fluid Differential fluid Coolant Brake fluid Power Steering fluid Belts Spark Plugs That just scratches the surface. You should also consider a suspension refresh depending on miles. What is the point of 400 HP if your car is broke down or can't handle the power? |

I have to agree with making sure all maintenance and fluids are up to date. I am new to the 335i world as well, and that is where I am starting.
This weekend I plan to head up to BMW and see if I can get the service history for the car. Then it's Oil change and Brake Fluid flush this weekend, checking rotor thickness, and spark plugs. |

Congrats on the new ride!
This thread needs some pics though As previous people said, cant go wrong with a tune, JB4 with MHD really is the best bang for the buck when it comes to features, support, and diagnostics. Those two combined make a world of difference on your 335i' all for under 750$ What type of exhaust did you get?? how are you liking it?? |

What kind of upgrades do you plan on doing? If you are after power get a tune / downpipe / intercooler and you will need a charge pipe for reliability.

I too got a 09 335! Downpipes and JB4 will make a WORLD of a difference. O yea dual cone intake while you're at it. Also, if you're looking for that blow off valve turbo sound, google the $2 diverter mod, it's personal preference, some people like it, some people don't. I personally like it a lot- no performance gains tho. If you do do this mod, make sure to buy 25mm filter or you'll get oil all over your engine

Congrats on your pick up. These cars have a lot of maintenance things to get right before putting more power to them. Check your Valve cover gasket. Your oil filter housing gasket. oil pan gasket. look into media blasting you intake manifold. change the oil. change spark plugs put fresh coolant in. Then start with mods. I got a 335i last month and have done all of that and then some. Now I'm onto charge pipe with BOV. Catless DP's DCI and I went the the Cobb access port. I have been playing with BMW's for awhile and when they are maintained well they will reward you with a smile. slack on maintenance and you will pay for it.

Roundel valve stem caps. One of those small details no one hardly ever notices but is there for that little bit of extra satisfaction. $16 of vanity! I love mine. Part # 36110421544
