a stock that quintupled

Just noticed that CSX popped, so I decided to take a closer look. I bought it in April 2009, and it has just about quintupled since then. Seems so easy to just do what WB does?

I got O'Reilly stock when I worked for them in '07. I own 3 shares.
Wish I'd stuck with them and the stock option now.

haha don't get me started with amazon, I don't like the company, but I got it in 1998, it tripled, I was satisfied. That would have been a life changer. I mention CSX because it's nice to see a boring, dividend-paying co., hang with the facebooks of the world.

We should have a stocks sub forum where tips can get tossed around. I don't know anyone anymore who "plays" the market. Back, before 2006, I hung with a bunch of people who were into it and we would all toss ideas around--many of them working out well and a few risky penny stocks ending up going in the trash. I did pretty well with E-trade and Oracle then--paid for a European vacation. Some of my tips earned a couple guys a few grand in a couple weeks. Yeah, it was not that hard to take $1000 and turn it into $4000 in a month.

I put fifty on a mining company last January. I was so mad at myself for selling my car I put the money on my save the world fund, and I bought zero of those stocks on my trading account.

But anyway, that doesn't piss me off at all. My kids constantly make fun of me for this.

But yeah, I checked in July that portfolio after brexit. I was buying puts on bank stocks back then and I actually remember telling a friend I'm making an easy 40k in three days if my estimate falls through.

I did make that but that stock, Outokumpu oy I bought 26k shares and I bought it for the company name. Outokumpu translates as Weird hill, I looked in to it enough to know it was crashing and since peter money, I didn't want it on my account.

Sentimental female investing 101. Nothing to be proud of really.

We had one, but every time someone recommended a stock, somebody else whined and claimed the OP didn't know shit. So the thread died.

That's kind of what I figured. I guess there is a big difference discussing Stocks with people on the internet as opposed to people you know in person. Too bad. I bet a lot of people here have good ideas and insights--we could all help each other make some cash--it's pretty entertaining doing short term low cash investing. I Don't even play anymore as I don't know anyone who gets me motivated. Now it's just plunk the money in funds. I still have my E-trade account with a bunch of individual stocks that are way up....but, I have no motivation to play now.

Reminds me of the time I bought a ton of Tesla shares at around $36 per share or something right before they announced their first ever quarterly profit.

About six months later they were selling for $200+. That made me happy.

I'd love to see these reading on my bank account but tesla is something I never went for. It doesn't even hurt my hippie world saving perspective as a company that bad but man, I refuse to support electric cars.

So thanks for the post. Now I remember I'm poor for a reason.

Oil has been fun. Gold is interesting. Auto sector has 1-2 years left in it, IMO.

Anything related to payment processing, online retail, or shipping is worth looking into.
