Its A Success!!!!

After 5 hours of downloading coding software mentioned on this forum i finally adjusted my idle rpm from 550 to 650. Car runs much smoother now, it also saved using the update inpa. ALL HARD WORK PAID OFF!!!!!!!!! After realising that the engine i have is not the n52k according to the inpa, i had to use the n52 engine for my 2008 328i.

I don't know why you would have to adjust the idle speed.
I would think that would indicate something wrong with the
hardware such as a coil starting to go bad , a unclean air filter
or fouled plug. Do you use the AC at all this time of year .
You might want to code the automatic AC on auto out .
How many miles on the car?

I have replaced the coils all new, spark plugs new, air filter isnt even dirty. Just scanned error codes, if any were stored in the system None at all. Motor mounts are fine. 101k miles currently.

eccentic shaft sensor and dirty vanos solonoids are also
associated with run rough problems.
Check for oil in the top of the eccentric shaft sensor but
maybe you have already done that.

Decided to return the idle rpm to normal, just odd things were happening that i havent seen before. And update on the eccentric there was no oil in the plug at all.

Just a guess.

Yea I wasn't going to risk anything else happening so i just tuned it back down to normal. Ill just have to do a Deep clean of the vanos solenoids, switch em up to see if it changes, and clean the maf again. I know i need a new engine air filter one of these days, just don't have 50$ to drop on one atm.

I remember my air filter costing 35 online.
I suppose you have cleaned the filter box and tapped
or reverse blowed the filter as much as possible.

I have not, i will have to use my dads compressor to blow it out. What brand of air filter is oem, or the best to use? Also, i just swapped my vanos solenoids cleaned them out, put back in, cleaned my maf sensor. It acted as if it were choking for air, rpms were fluttering. I bet its not getting enough good air.
