Oem exhaust mod on a e92 328i
Has anyone cut their stock mod and modified it like the mod on the 335i and m3 oem exhaust mod? If so how would you say it sounds?? Does it sound like a PE?

I've looked at some of the post, but some people cut all of the piping from what I'm understanding. What I was really trying to ask, is it possible just to the cut the dotted hole piping like the 335i and make it striaght? I know someone on the forum cut all the piping off inside. I guess I should redefine my question lol sorry I was kinda drinking when I wrote that last night (Jameson on the rocks.)

It would be thousands, yes, thousands cheaper to just toss on magnaflow muffler and maybe cut out the 2nd cats. a 335/535 conversion is $900-1300 in parts and lots of labor.

He can do what I did, buy a used 335i bumper($100), tips($35), custom alpine white paint( 4 spray cans) from paintscratch.com($150, including 2k clearcoat, primer and Adhesion Promoter)(painted myself, turned out amazing.), install and labor($150)

this guy essentially did what you are looking for... I think...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1241192&page=5 credit to TylerJamesInc for the image and the work(post #95) I am planning to almost do this to an old muffler I have kicking around(I have seriously been busy over the last year... no seriously!) I am not going to use the welded in pipe(the images shows almost a stragiht thru... the section thru the old man hair I think is perforated. I am just going to leave that last section open making a chambered straight thru style. edit: I actually don't think it is perforated so this is a straight thru mod... I think. Maybe. LOL |

Man, I sure wish I had pictures of that now I could have sworn the section of 2.75" in the center chamber was perf'd, but I can't find any pictures showing it uncovered, so now I'm second guessing myself. Why do you think it's not perf'd? If that's really the case, I sure made a muffler delete a huge hassle and pain in the ass! There isn't any hint of drone, and there has been plenty of MD guys reporting drone. I'm sticking to my story that it's perforated!
