DIY-PI Sharp Customs Port Injection Manifold Review.
Hey guys,
I have been working with a vendor named Sharp Customs for their Port Injection Manifold testing. We now have a usable solution after 4 revisions that fits and functions perfectly but also adds a +1 for engine bling! This has been very hush hush for the most part but that was because Sharp Customs sells a very large volume of 2JZ intake manifolds and this was an offering they brought to the N54 crowd. At this time I can only confirm the fitment for the N54 (all models USA) for now. What you get with this kit: - Aluminum Port Injection Manifold - Fuel Rail and fittings (6an) --Also includes an adapter for the return line if needed - Manifold O-rings - 4 vacuum ports (underside) - 4 vacuum fittings for the above ports in various sizes - All bolts and needed hardware to install Need to know: - This will fit very snug and works with all aftermarket Charge-pipes - You will need to move the Brake Booster Vacuum line (easy) - You will need to supply your own fuel line fittings and injectors. -- LS7 style EV6 injectors (shorty style) - You will need a Port injection controller AI6/BMS My build list right now: Jegs Order QTY Item Cost 2 2 361-809106 FTG -6 90 TUBE SWIV SEAL 17.76 35.52 1 1 361-926106 -6 I FEMALE AN SWIVEL 17.06 17.06 1 1 555-103120 FUEL RAIL FTG. 6AN X 5/16 8.95 8.95 1 1 198-37418 BLUE THREADLOCKER 242 6ML 8.99 8.99 2 2 555-100403 3/8"NPT PIPE PLUG BLUE(2) 4.41 8.82 1 1 Spectre Performance 6038 4pk 1/8" NPT Pipe Plug 5.89 1 1 361-176106 O-RINGS VITON -6 PK OF 10 3.56 3.56 1 1 361-991912 FTG -6 TO -8 RDCR UNION 5.68 5.68 1 1 799-640860 -6ANX5/16SAE FEM LT4 BLUE 18.99 18.99 1 1 555-100910 #6 HOSE PRE-CUT 3-FEET 14.99 14.99 1 1 361-939206 FTNG -6 45 SWIVEL COUPLER 12.38 12.38 ECS Tuning Order: 1 1 11617547242 OEM BMW Intake Runner Gasket 34.72 1 1 13547582931 Throttle Body Gasket 9.08 Injectors I used: http://www.jegs.com/p/FAST/FAST-Prec...22113/10002/-1 Fitment: Its a direct bolt on unit that once you get the above parts will need to T off the LPFP -> HPFP line with a adapter to feed the rail. If you have seen any PI install its the exact same as those ones basically. Instead of a spacer this is an actual manifold. Performance So far after several 20psi pulls with PI spraying i can say that its a BEAST!! Once the PI starts to work the car hauls all the way to redline and the added fueling is really obvious once it kicks on. I am hoping to dyno after my custom tune is ready from Trebila The car just FEELS like it revs much quicker than before. That is likely due to the AFR doing from 12.8 to a richer 11.9 under WOT. HPFP does not dive anymore either on 100% E85 and my stage 2 LPFP seems to hold the pressure just fine - lowest its dipped is about 54psi nearing redline PI active @ 23psi Price is set at $540.00 shipped to your door from Sharp Customs and i am not personally selling this either. I am here to offer support in case its needed from those who purchase but that's solely my discretion since I am not paid by SC for forum support. I think this is a GREAT offering and has a great deal of buzz on other forums right now Last edited by 10091989; 01-27-2017 at 11:28 AM.. Reason: removal of detail not relevant to review. |

Are adapters needed for the bms pi controller to the injectors or are they a matching plug? Also would having fuel-it upgraded fuel lines with the y built it, negate the need for the y made of an fittings? Or would that not work for this manifold ?

And yes you are good to go if you have the T line already installed. If you have a PI spacer now you can remove the spacer and use the lines/injectors in this manifold too! |

mm ok. thats probably the one big downside to using the ls7 style injectors.. i personally can't find decent sized ones at a reasonable cost.. 39 lb/hr won't cut it for me.. really need to be in the 50+ range to be worth it. all of those options are $350+ though i think i might be able to snag some 85 lb/hr ones cheaper at $320 somehow lol.

Or you guys can buy the ECS kit they sell from EOS.
Its basically everything else you need for the PI manifold. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-evolutio...kit/b1006~eos/ all the hardware will work with the SC mani btw. |

Alright guys and gals,
Here are the Dyno results for the Sharp Customs on my 2010 N54 135i. My last dyno without PI made 498WHP and 516TQ, on E65 Fueling and 21.5Psi of boost w/13.8 degrees of timing. This was the ABSOLUTE MAX i could run with the stock HPFP. This was also on a lean target of 12.9 at redline. That is fairly lean which gets scary for reliability and knock. This is a FBO car with a stage 2 LPFP and only STAGE 1 VTT Turbocahrgers. 14T Compressor wheel and stock rotor. My current Dyno made 526.22WHP and 592.61TQ, on E70 fueling (winter blend) and 24.0Psi of boost w/ 10.8 degrees of ignition advance. NOTE: Trebila is tuning my car and hasnt increased the timing yet to test the current tables. He is going to send me a flash that increases timing after i send him more logs. So there is likely more WHP on the table once i get a better timing situation. So these are preliminary numbers. The biggest thing you will notice is the availability of WHP is much sooner than my last dyno. I have 500whp+ from about 4500rpm to 6000rom. My prior Dyno had 498whp only near 5950rpm as a peak. So the usable whp is WAY better with PI and the manifold I have attached my old dyno next to my new dyno to show the usable whp/tq difference. |

Looks good!
Can we see the entire dyno sheet from both runs? Its hard to tell where things take off with only a section shown. Also, forgot to ask, will that fit under the stock air box? I like the sleeper look and would like to maintain it if I can. |

So this is fueling in conjunction with the stock injectors correct?
Could you run methanol injection thru this manifold? Im new to the N54/5 game... I had an N52 for a while but obviously they are untune-able.

Yes that is correct. To run methanol you would need an injector that is capable of doing so. There is a difference between them, but the Bosch EV14 series have shown to handle methanol without corrosion.
