Miles per tank.....

I wanted to share this with the diesel crowd

According to the car....733.5 miles on a tank in my 335d!! Not too shabby.

As a comparison-my wife followed me in our modded 2.5 ton TDi Treg and recorded a projected 711 miles per tank readout...

I know these are not completely accurate numbers, but I found this interesting.

These cars are pretty amazing. My illiterate 2011 335d got exactly 50 mpg over a 250 mile course last weekend from West Virginia up to near Harrisburg then over to Baltimore on I-70. Plenty of elevation changes but I kept the speed down to 61-62, which was excruciating.

Yea - I usually run 80+ on the highway, but had to keep the speed to 70 that particular night.

So these are numbers from the car 'estimating' how many miles are left on the tank?

I'd be interested to see the numbers once you've run through that entire tank of fuel.

Range and consumption are never going to match.

Range is a computer calculation based on preset values.
Consumption will be your real time value.

Range will always be higher but you will hardly be able to achieve that number in real time driving.

Range is a composite of miles traveled so far on a tank and a projection based on the past 16 or so (someone jump in here with the right number) miles of driving. It is absolutely possible to meet or exceed the projection, it all depends on whether your driving becomes more or less aggressive.

Wolf 335 - I completely understand the 'estimated' part....just thought it was worth sharing...

I reset my trip with every fill-up and manually calculate the miles driven by the gallons filled.

This.

I've left NC going to FL - 99% highway driving and the range kept increasing (to a point) after my top off refuel.

I get ya. I reset mine also on every fill trying to meet my range based on a full tank. For me just doesn't happen im usually short anywhere from 50 to 100 km.

I stop keeping track of mileage once winter gets here. Winter diesel + cold temps, not the best conditions for mileage.

Undoubtedly...I've been averaging about 32-33 mpg tanks with approx 90% of mileage at 70-80mph...I miss the summer

my last fill up since I went with the JBD was 31mpg per tank fill to miles driven, but my dash said 27.* I want to see what it is now since I have the added power out of my system lol..

when I drove from Houston to Austin i go the 700 mile range on the display.. when i got home it went away real quick..
