Seatbelt handler issue.. fixable under warranty?

Hi Chaps,

Wondering if you've experienced trying to get the seatbelt handler fixed under warranty? My 2010 LCI it just never works now, the little hand never pops out and grabs the belt. I can click it out myself, it just doesn't seem to want to do it any more.. Something gone in the mechanism

I know it's a common issue but wondering about people getting something like this fixed under the extended (Mondial) warranty?

Does the whole arm not come out? Does it make any noise? If not, knackered motor most likely so should be covered under warranty.

no it's just the arm itself. Someone has told me there's a small piece of metal you can pick out with a small screwdriver if the arm stops catching .. going to try looking for that first!

I just wonder if they'd try to argue it as wear/tear but.. we'll see..

Have a quick look on you tube mate I followed that and fixed both of mine quick and easy ..just pull fuse out once the arms have come out to keep them out.
Small flat head to prise the arm out to help with fix ...
But then just let the Broken metal piece fall out and get rid of the spring as no longer needed .. super glue the metal peice that's still in place ..then repeat the process in reverse once dried ...than you should never have the problem again ...might sound Complicated as it's hard to explain but it's easily and ull see what I mean once you attempt it..but there is a clip on YouTube I followed ")

Yeah. I had the same issue. The belt kept slipping off the hook thing. Poking and prodding the mechanism cased a little piece of metal to fall out and depending on the location of the remaining the piece of of metal, the hook catches fine but still not acceptably functional.

I used this video to properly fix mine. It's been 100% since. 10 mins or so and a drill and you're done. Finding a suitable screw was probably the hardest part. A bit unnerving pulling the arm against the motor but saves you an excess payment and time without your car cos you know BMW are going to want it for like 3 days to do a 10 min job heh.
