Replacing stock shocks on e92 335i
Hi guys,
My car just came back from the dealer because one wheel was rubbing the wheel well during compression of the shock. I thought it was an alignment issue, but they said the right side was sitting 1/2 inch lower than the other side. Seeing as how the car is pushing 100k they told me to replace the shocks. Was going to be about $1200 just to do the rear two, which I obviously declined. I'm not familiar in the world of shocks/springs at all. What would be best thing to buy in my case? I'd like a comfortable ride since it's a daily driver. But a little lower than stock would be welcome. Any performance increase is ofcourse also welcome, which I know doesn't pair very well with comfort. What would you buy? Thanks!

make sure you take a look at this thread. if you have smooth pavement where you live or without major potholes, invest in some aftermarket coilovers. |

Some people said it could be the springs that caused the right side to sag, while others say it's the shock. I've ordered two Bilstein B8's for the rear and will try those first. If that doesn't do anything I was thinking of pairing them with the Eibach springs.

I've heard with new rears the old front ones wear out faster, is that what you're referring to? Planning to do the installation of the rears this weekend.

Not sure if I buy that...my thinking is that the rear will feel "planted" and the front will feel like garbage. Car probably won't "feel right" but I guess we'll see what your impressions are after the swap.
