R1 Drilled and Slotted Brake Kit

Anyone have experience with these guys?

I'm excited and just made my order. I saw some pretty good reviews and the price is really great. Oddly, I remember OEM rotor and pad replacement being much more on my TT. So big-ups to these guys for keeping the bank intact. It also doesn't hurt that I literally asked if they had a promo code I could use and they gave me 20% off total order. Threw some brake sensors in and it was still way cheaper than the kit at original price! Now I'm crossing my fingers

I'll update you guys as I receive the kit and after install!

No I went premier series. I got the drilled and slotted. They look like the photo included. I haven't upgraded to SS lines. The pads are R1's brand pads. They are ceramic, low dust pads.

I'll post pictures, final cost, performance review, and any setbacks.

I've ran their stuff before in the past and now currently have the slotted rotors on mine with ebc red stuff. Never had any problems with them and the service has been great. I installed a couple e line sets with their brand pads for some friends and they love them. No issues there either. I can vouch for R1 being good stuff. I'm more curious about their big brake kit.....someday

Me too! I drool over that. I just love how custom you can make it too. I'm excited for the premier series rotors. They look more like a bbk rotor than the Eline in my opinion. Look at them side by side, the hole & slot count in the pattern is almost double. Both are great though!

I bought the e-line drilled and slotted rotors, along with their R1 brand pads, and some G2 Caliper paint. All of that came out to around $450 if I remember correctly. For a complete brake overhaul, that was a steal. I'm about 6k miles or so in to them and I love them. There is noticeably less brake sensitivity compared to the stock setup, but I'm very happy with it. The first few hundred miles I was concerned I had bled the fluid wrong because my pedal felt spongy and I wasn't stopping like I thought I should have, but it all cleared up and I'm very pleased.

I haven't noticed less brake dust though.

I think the brake responsiveness and bite are the pads. I've read around that the oem pads have a little more initial bite. I could be wrong. Luckily pads are so cheap you could try new ones on your next service and probably see a difference. I wonder what the stopping difference will be against premier series.

What color you go for the G2?! I went bright orange. It looks amazing and I can't wait to have the rotors for the final touch.

I have a Space Gray E90 335d, and I went for the blue paint. I never liked the "loud" caliper colors, I preferred something that was subtle. The blue is perfect. It stands out just enough that you can tell something is up, but it doesn't scream "LOOK AT ME". Pair it up with the black Style 195 wheels and you get a pretty stellar combo.

I'm going for this look. My car is the same color. Same caliper color too. This guy looks like he has the eLine or similar as the hole and slot pattern is about half as many as premier series. Blue reminded me too much of M cars or M performance parts and I didn't want someone to mistake it for that.

Got any pics of your setup? I bet it looks good.

Yeah I'm not going BBK. Just using the pic as a reference for color and rotor look.

Right now they're stock silver wheels because I don't have the money for new ones or to powder coat these. I had dip on them but the tire shop ruined it. If you go through my posts I made a thread about my car. I'm not able to upload pictures from my phone.

It may be off putting to some. But 50lb packages going through shipping are sure to take a beating as well regardless. Rotors should be able to take a beating right :? The taped box came in another box that seemed to be in better shape. The other 2 rotors came in a new brown shipping box.

I'm gonna try to have them installed tomorrow!

I wanted to add that the craftsmanship seems to be on point and they look great.
