Front left brake grabby after wet driving and...
After I drive in the rain/snow/slush (and let the car dry in the garage overnight, typically) my drivers side front brake is super grabby. It wears off after a few times using the brake. Also, if I am backing out of the garage (again after wet driving and it drying) while reversing and turning left I get a vibration/whine - again after driving it goes away.
So it is possible the disc rusts more than it should? Brakes checked by dealer and said they are OK. Otherwise brakes feel 100%. ![]() |

mechanics are lazy these days and quality of service has went down. both my car and my friends rotors were put on so shitty, i still had lots of rotor surface left but it was all gone from the outer edges of the rotor so it just needed to be replaced along with the pads. |

What do you mean by grabby? Is the car pulling to one side?
What does the whine sound like? What is vibrating? |

I've worn off the grabbiness after an initial stop at about 10mph. No pulling left at high speeds - ever.
The whining sounds like an old rusty pipe being twisted and causing a harmonic vibration. I'll record it next drive after the wet. It's suppose to snow mid week. 👍 |

anyways, I'm not going back there again I've been doing oil changes every 5000 miles and brakes at my mechanic (who did an excellent job BTW, better then whoever put the original brakes onto the car) it sounds like there is some rust, or alot of brake dust in between the rotor surface and the caliper causing the brake to grab until it is shaved off the surface from usage. its a little expensive, but if you still have a good amount of brake material left just have a mechanic take all of it apart, clean the rotors, service/lube the calipers and put everything back on properly. if you dont have much brake left, may as well just replace everything with some good OEM stuff.. I wouldnt go back to the dealer ever again. |

Recently had a similar problem but it was actually my control arm bushing that was wore out and under braking caused the car to pull to that side.
