Non-selectable/deletable code memories in DIS?
I bought myself a laptop and got the software not too long ago, and hooked it up to the car today.
I ran DIS, and it shows the following codes: 2E8C-(IBS, currently present, but doesn't cause dash light) 2DEC-(battery, exhaustive discharge, fault currently not present) 2DEB-(vehicle electrical system, undervoltage, fault currently present) I had the battery replaced (with an aftermarket one) in November by an Indy shop. My car's original OEM battery finally bit the dust after 10 years of use! I checked the mileage from when the codes were triggered, and I am positive these codes are related to the old battery and were never cleared. This also leads me to believe there is a good possibility the new battery was never coded. I tried to clear the codes, but DIS is listing them as "non-selectable/deletable". Maybe someone can clear this up for me, but it doesn't seem logical that I cannot clear old/dying battery codes. Is it possible that coding the new battery will clear them? To me it seems backwards, as old codes should be cleared before a new battery is coded in? Thanks for your guidance! |
