Successful CIC Retrofit but DVD unreadable?
Hi guys,
Fitted a Pro CIC system yesterday (retrofit) from my Pro CCC (2007 E92). Used an emulator, coded in #0909, $6VA to the VO and everything fitted works like a treat except for the DVD. When various discs have gone in they have shown a code "unreadable". The disc cleaner played its video whilst cleaning inside but nothing from any others. Will adding region code $698 (region 2) to VO solve this and play? Many thanks |

Hi Dtype,
Does this actually need to be in the VO for this to work? It was a uk sale and I'm in the U.K. too |

Well, managed to put in the VO now but no difference
Bit stumped as thought this may have solved it. Shows up on ISTA VO so it's definitely in and everything else is all good. |

Doubt that I did as just put $698 in the VO which is now stored and showing.
Not very familiar with coding side of things but with clear instructions I can generally get through it no problems. Has to be something relatively simple but obviously out of my current knowledge 😖 |

Ok, I'm thinking I'm staying on the same wavelength. Went through using NCS dummy profile software (but obviously expert) and don't recall selecting CIC today. We added $6VA to the VO after fitting, has this anything to do with anything regarding my little issue here or just focus on coding VO to CIC

You write the VO to the FRM & CAS. This tells the car what hardware it has. But the individual modules are unaware of the change until you set them to the car's "defaults".... aka Defaulting the module... When you reset a module, the module you are resetting retrieves the VO from the FRM or CAS and adjusts its settings to comply with what it sees in the VO. |

opjose- that'll explain why I was scratching my head just now as to why the CIC on NCS threw up things I've never seen before. The CIC unit is later than 09/09, should the VO need changing from 09/09 to another date?

Cracked it! Much appreciated guys with your input! Updated VO with #0908 and actually blooded coded the CIC this time
In order to get the correct production date of my own car back on the VO I'm assuming I can just put this back in but obviously don't code the CIC. With this in mind too I'll ask the question about updating CIC with my Icom to match up to date software on rest of the car, is this doable or just leave alone now (now that it's all working) |
