That's a great deal OP.

If I didn't have L7, and wanted a quick, very nice upgrade...I would be all over this.

GLWS!

Is this plug and play or do you need to reprogram the head unit too?

Fully plug and play. It's the OEM retrofit kit made by alpine. Even automatically adjusts the gong volume.

I looked into this question more as there is some confusing information out there. Many people are installing without any coding (myself included). Coding is definitely not required. However, I now understand that coding removes the equalization present in the radio leading to reduced treble. I never did this coding, but simply turned down the treble setting on the radio. Sound quality was noticeably better than the Base stereo and I left it at that. Apparently, coding can improve the sound further by adjusting the EQ more precisely.

The tweeter pods in the pic are for the 1er, the kit fits both.

Any BMW parts supplier - like ECS or your local dealer.
That part is never included with the kit. I purchased the 1-series tweeter covers from ECS.

would you be able to ship this to the UK? I'd be very interested in this kit...and also is this kit for vehicles from 2009 or before?

Sorry this has sold. (I thought I got all the iterations of this post, but I find them hard to track down on this group of sites.)

I do still have the tweeter corner covers if anyone is interested.
