Zaino durability
I put 7 coats of Zaino (z5/z5/z2/z5/z2/z5/z2) at the end of October last year. Since then, Z7 wash twice a month, Z8 after every wash. Car is garaged 70% of the time. Nor Cal weather...
Can I get away with not doing another Zaino treatment until this Fall? I read most people are getting 6 months out of 3 coats, so should having twice the amount of coats last twice as long? |

More then likely not.. You would know better then anyone! Car still beading water? How does it look? When it stops looking good or stops sheeting/beading water you need to so it again! Personally I think you wasted about 5 coats, the main reason people do 2 coats is just to insure total coverage. But if you think 7 coats looks better/ lasts longer then 2, good for you!
But just to let you know 20 coats still wouldnt last a year! Sorry.... |

+1 The second coat seems to just fill in gaps you may have missed with the first. I doubt 7 coats is much longer-lasting than one or two. Did you do them all at once? I assume you mean 7 coats over the course of several weeks or months? You should get maybe 4-6 months of durability, counting from the last coat you put on your car.

I get about 4-5 months before the water stops beading up on a couple coats of Z2. Like others said, I don't think seven coats is going to make it last any longer than two.

Thanks fellas... The 7 coats i had was applied over the course of 3 weeks.
But right now, as far as i can tell, the water is still beading amazingly well, comparable to when i first applied it back in October, and the shine is still there (or maybe it's just the Z8?). Anyway, good to know that more coats don't necessarily mean durability. Maybe I'll try some of that Z-CS on top since it claims to last up a bit longer.. |

I recommend applying in dust free area. Z-cs leaves a coat that looks oily until it completely dries. The dust loves to stick to it while its still wet.

ZCS doesn't laster any longer than straight up Z2. So to answer your question, yes, you can go until fall without more z5/z2; as long as you keep z8'ing. |
