Love My N55

Wow,
Just picked up a 2011 335 x drive 6-speed manual....soooooo very happy. Big step up from my 328 (even though it was re flashed had PE,PI and 3stage manifold)
Got lucky and found one with 71k on it and it had the BMW performance flash already installed

What a great car!

Up next (if I can find one for a good price) is BMW PE

Congrats on the 11' 335i N55 xDrive. I have the same.

The mod bug hit me hard and fast, and 14 or some months after having the car I'm FBO running e85 mixes. Not in any conceivable way could I ever grasp how different this car is from when it was stock. A total rocket when I hit the gas, though just cruising to and from places it feels buttery smooth and completely baseline.

I did several angles on preventive maintenance with the car - plugs, coils, OFH gasket, water pump, thermostat, ZF transmission pan kit w/ fluid, etc. My cars at 99k and runs beautifully.

Enjoy

These cars are a love hate relationship. Nothing like cruising at 90. You glide along like you do when skiing on packed powder with a fresh 3 inch cover. Every new mod can be appreciated for what they are. Every breakdown has you thinking that next mod may need to be put off for a couple of months. Speaking of modding, once you get bit by that bug, beware as he bites hard. Enjoy your new ride.

Yuck! IMO, VRSF doesn't sound nearly as good as the PE on the N55.

Corsa is a different story I believe it's equal to the PE.

Im not a fan of the PE honestly. Its overpriced and does not do it for me
VRSF is a better value daily driver in my opinion .. Only complaint i have about it is that it might be too quiet for some, high flow downpipe will take care of that

Cheap to mod the stock exhaust if you find a place willing to cut open and mod the muffers. Can imitate the PE mod easily.
Google search for the "BMW PE mod"
You can also go a bit further and replace more perforated piping than the guide suggests, for more volume.

Note a downpipe increases the volume, so take that into account with any exhaust mods you do. If you get a downpipe, you can use MHD to disable the noisy cold start sequence.

Picking up a used PE in great shape for a very good price...otherwise I would consider other options.
