Getting my feet wet

Detailers...Thanks to all of you guys and Paul over at CG, finally got my little detailing collection going.

It has been awesome using such great products on my e92.. Hopefully I will post some pics of that the next time I detail her.

Here is the question I have for you guys:
My Dad is picking up a new Black 4Runner tomorrow. I want to help him out and seal the paint etc to avoid swirls from the get go. I was thinking about doing:

Citrus Wash, jetseal109, and 5050 wax.

I don't think a new car would need clay, but if I see anything on the paint I will probably clay it using CG Green clay.

What would you guys suggest? I did search, but most threads are related to BMW prep, I know all cars paint is a lil different. TIA

im not pro so u you might wanna wait for them to answer but....

i think your plan sounds really good. Im pretty sure claying will be a good idea anyways cause new cars can pick up a lot of dirt during transport. You might also wanna consider taking care of the interior from the get-go as well with some 303 or a similar product.

I would recommend claying, new cars have contamination from transport, usually from rail dust.

Nice *beginner* collection you have there

As far as claying, it really can't hurt. Even on a brand new car, there can be some overspray and rail dust stuck to the paint from the manufacturing process. I say clay.

Congratulations! You have a great start and I am happy to see you received the bug as well!

For a new car prep I would do the following. The funny thing is I did a new car prep today on JerryR's new 335.

We did the following:

Wash with CWC
Clay with green clay
Glaze with CG Revive Glaze
Wax with 50/50

The car turned out amazing! I would recommend a sealant, but do to time restrains Jerry is going to put JetSeal on later.
