Help-Door sill trim/kick plate/carpet cover

Long time listener, first time caller

I'm having a hard time setting this trim piece back into place. My Bentley manual says it snaps in, but doesn't give any more detail than that. Instinctively, it should just snap in. Though, it's difficult to do so without me breaking it (it feels like it's going to snap if I apply any more pressure). I've worked with interior pieces on other kinds of cars, but not a BMW. I've got pics attached. I drive a 2011 335is if that helps.

IME it doesn't necessarily snap in from above, but instead it slides in (then snaps in place)

Garage List
Firstly, by your pics the brown clips are still in the car - this often happens that the clips come out of the trim piece & remain stuck in car when removing the trim.

Remove all those brown clips that are still stuck in car sill & slide each one of them into the receptacles under the trim

Then start @ the rear, make sure the tab at rear of trim is slid under the sail panel edge, and start the clips into the holes in the car sill one at a time. the clips will slide back/forth within the trim receptacles to be able to align them with the holes in the car as you go along. Give the top of the trim a 'pop' with your fist to seat the clips into the car

Before you get to the last 3 clips at front of trim - bend trim ever so slightly as to insert the tab on the front of the trim under the edge of the kick panel - then pop the remaining clips in

pull brown clips out with pliers then install them on plastic trim then press plastic trim back down allowing brown clips to clip back into car.
