335D Manual swap

Anyone seriously interested in manual swapping a 335D, take a look in the facebook North American 335d owners group. Fun things are on the near horizon .

I emailed Yozh about this earlier today. I'm 30 minutes from Jarek. This will be quite pricey when all is said and done.

Far cheaper than a new/reman auto, only $5123 with a $500 core from Husker as of today .

No doubt for guys that can do their own labour with software but I think this will be very expensive for someone who has to pay for labour as well.

I just joined the group to learn more. That would make our cars 2x as good, and they are already pretty good...

Already been done my side of the pond in the UK.

There's a build thread on this page.

I'm getting my uk e91, 335d done in the summer,

Roughly 3grand so I'd say 4000/4500 in dollars for conversion.

Well worth it,

Yup, Grazy did it! You guys are lucky though, there's no need to fly parts halfway across the world when you want to manual swap .

Depending on how much power you're planning on producing, I'm going to be making heavy (30+lb) billet steel flywheel that will use a fully sprung clutch masters kevlar twin disk setup. Math says the clutch will hold 917lb/ft. Take off a few for fudge room, and you're still well over 850lbft of holding capacity on a bad day.

That sounds very interesting,

The main man Grazy as u can see in his build thread is an out and out track car,

I want mine to be an ultimate sleeper and to look like a 330d inside but go like a mother fucker.

I'd love to have as close to a normal clutch setup as possible, it will be my daily driver but will be stage 3 power with meth.

So aiming for the high 400's and over 600lb

Keep me posted on the clutch mines getting converted in the summer can't wait to have a stick again 👍

I must say I am interested in this, as like Yoxall said, mine is an out and out track car. If someone can get a car running without any error codes or excessive flywheel noise I will take my hat off to them.

I am hoping for 500hp and 700ftlb this week! My clutch is far from daily able, even if i do still commute to work in the car every now and then!

I'm 110% confident it's possible. I have to be close to 100 auto to manual swaps on vw/audi stuff over the last 8 years and it's not hard at all to make a 100% oem swap on them.

With the sprung twin plate clutch I'm planning on using, there will be some noise when you push the clutch down and the floaters wiggle, no way around that. But with kevlar facings, it should be very smooth to engage. There might be a touch of gear rattle in neutral with the clutch up, but I doubt you'll hear it in the car.

You mean your 4 paddle rigid disk isn't grandma approved?
