Question quietest OEM-Look cold air intake?

Can anyone recommend the quietest possible + oem look cold air intake?

All I've found so far is an AFE blue dry which comes in an oem look box.

current setup

- MHD Stage 1 tune ecu
- VRSF Silicone air intake hoses
- VRSF metal charge pipe

- rest stock oem

Just get a drop in filter if that's what you want.

The AFE momentum GT is one of the best performing closed box intakes. The factory box is a bottleneck in design, regardless of filter.

It would be nearly pointless to couple inlets with a stock box. If you are getting inlets, it would behoove you to switch to a better performing intake.

Jeff is correct or you get the ecstuning intake. I myself have factory box with kn drop in filter running mmp stock style inlets for now but will eventually get a better intake. Some people are running the z4 oem intake lid which give more airflow as well

I just want more airflow in the engine to work with the VRSF Silicone hose intakes + metal chargepipe.

Don't want more sound so as quiet as possible
Mr. 5 intake? That's what I am doing because I like the sleeper look.

I switched from DCI's to AFE's Momentum GT over a year ago and I've been really happy. DCI's got heat soaked too easily and temps took too long to recover.
The downside (for me) is that it sounds just like the stock airbox (ie no sound). For you, this is probably exactly what you want.

Jeff, it looks nice but I don't see how it could offer much more performance than just dropping a K&N filter into a stock box...as you said, the intake pipe in the bottleneck. And for $550, I'd look for a used DINAN intake to add! JMO.

The AFE momentum GT, I have tested it on both a Z4 35i and 1M . This is the best option for a direct swap and characteristic of the stock intake but allowing more airflow.

I read today though that someone used an AFE drop in filter and got NEGATIVE horsepower gains.

Is the same true about the AFE momentum GT box or is that an actual improvement?

How about a "used" Dinan CAI??

Julian- do you see any gains from stock side inlet without different intake?

It did, but that was over 21 PSI. Its recommended if your not going to exceed 20 psi. Also the OP wanted something closer to stock characteristics. It does have an extra duct opening though to allow more air flow but I never got around to testing it. In theory if the duct is opened then I can see going beyond 20 PSI with the aFe Momentum GT
