About Zaino Z-6

I was wondering what was the difference between the Z2 pro and the Z-6.

The Z-6 is intended to be applied over the Z-2 or is a replacement?

Thank you for the answers.

Z-6 is the quick detailing spray. You apply it whenever needed to clean up dust/spots on your car. Z-2 lasts several months -- it is the protection.

Did you mean Z-5? It supposedly hides swirls better than Z2, although this is not saying much. It will not hide significant swirls.

Thank you so much for the answer,

So Z-6 is not just for looks and protection but also a cleaner?

What about the Z-8?

Z8 is a spray sealant. It's like Z6, but with some protection. Think of it like this.

Z2pro - liquid sealant, apply, let haze, buff off. 4-6 months of protection.

Z5pro - same as above, but with very, very light fillers.

Z6 - quick detailer, mild cleaner power, spray on, buff off. No protection, good gloss improvement. This is the "use after every wash or to clean off bird poop" style quick detailer in the zaino line.

Z8 - no cleaning power, spray on, buff off spray sealant booster. No intended for stand alone protection, but designed to boost the protection of Z2/Z5, so if you use this every few washes Z2/Z5 will last almost indefinitely. Adds a lot of gloss.

A lot of folks skip the Z6 now that Z8 is out, they will Z8 after each wash to boost Z2/Z5 protection and add gloss. Z6 is basically just a regular quick detailer (a good one, but a quick detailer nonetheless).

instruction says to use Z6 after the first layer of Z2. Or did you mean z6 isnt necessary once you car has sealant on it?

Thanks,

If I am not mistaken (and I might be) using Z6 after Z2 is just to make sure any residue is off before your next layer (or to clean p once you're done). You can do this with any quick detailer, however Z6 is a nice qd so it doesn't hurt to have. It's just a bit pricey for what it is.

Ahhh Zaino... good stuff. I hit my fiance's car yesterday with a good wash - clay - Z5 - Z2 yesterday. I didn't bother with the Z6 since it went right in the garage, but like others have said... it's used to get any residue off between coats and also is supposed to "help" the shine.

I believe I saw more than a few people post in the past that Z5pro is better than Z2pro for dark colors due to the very light fillers and the tendency of dark colors to show every microscopic scratch (stuff that would never show up on a silver or white car).

Would you agree with this ?

Will a car wash (with one of the typical shampoos) will get rid of the Z-8 or Z-6 or they are "wash-resistant"?

Cool Z-5 or Z-2 on dark colors

I've just recently started using Zaino. Working pretty well so far.

According to the Zaino page, they recommend finishing a Z-5 application with at least one coat of Z-2 to enhance the shine. I followed those directions and it did seem to be worthwhile.

Z-AIO and Z-5 came off very easily after drying. Z-2 was sometimes tough. Might have been associated with humidity, but haven't used it enough times to tell.

As noted above, Z-5 may help with spider webbing and such, but it's hard for me to tell. In bright sunlight (and probably with a halogen shop light if I had one) I can see the fine spider webs on the Jet Black. Outside direct very bright sun, they're not visible. Due to the Z-5? Not sure.

Though I haven't tested it over time, I like the idea of the Z-CS which is supposed to put a sealing layer over anything you've applied to protect for up to nine months.

This weekend was my first "ordinary" wash after a "full-cycle" of Zaino application. Was great. Pollen and road gunk came off easily, the car dried more easily than before, and finished up very nicely with Z-8. Even when the pollen was on the car, there was enough shine coming through that the car looked much cleaner than it was -- huge bonus for the Jet Black!

I very much like the Z-2 and Z-CS on the wheels. Stuff doesn't just rinse off like I'd hoped, but it's much easier to quickly wipe off. Their tire and trim protectant is nice, too. Deep black w/o too much shine.

The windshield has been a bit tricky for me. Zaino suggests Z-2, Z-CS, Z-6. Looks good when applied, but seems to move around with the wipers. In the week after the first application it rained hard for some time during my commute. Wipers pushed some product around and made "stop lines" where they reverse direction. Those went away after another 15 minutes of wiping. The next week, after another layer of Z-2, I hit a bit of rain that was just enough to need to use the wipers a couple times. That left streaks that were only visible when the sun was low and then produced wacky hologram-like "beams". A bit of Z-6 cleaned that up in a snap. Beading is good and it seems to help keep junk from sticking, but not sure about the hologram stuff.
