Dyno question. Where to get Spark/Tach pickup?
So I went to a Dyno day at one of the local speed shops that caters mostly to the Ford Mod motor crowd. And I decided to get my car up on the dyno there since I havent had it done since I put on the SSTT. We could not find a place to attach the spark/tach pickup for the DynoJet. How is this normally done for a 335i. I have had the car on a dyno before but didn't pay attention to where they put the pickup? Am I missing something obvious?
We could'nt find a coil or anything. Pics would help. Anyway we ran it with out the RPM input and it did 323 HP. Needless to say didnt get the torque curve. Can someone clue me in here. Last edited by SlowBimmer; 04-20-2008 at 12:43 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

Remove the plastic engine cover and attach the tach pickup to the wires coming off one of the coil packs. Make sure the pickup has a proper ground. Done.
Best Regards, Max-
