CD player issues.

I have a 2006 330i with the CCC idrive, Logic 7, sound system. Today I inserted a CD into the CD player and it played for a few seconds and then started skipping through the song. It was reluctant to eject out. I tried several more CD's that are in good shape and the CD drive will not recognize there is a disc. It sounds like it is trying to spin or track but nothing. The NAV DVD drive works great and it will also play CD's no problem. All other functions of the radio seem to be fine. Any ideas?

cd players are mechanical devices they all fail eventually.
If you are skilled and patient you might be able to clean it or
source a new one. Better to use a USB these days they can store
any format and much more stuff and they don't break.
