inflatable jack-stand!!!!

Quote:
I'm not much of a "car guy," but this Exhaust Air Jack seems like a pretty brilliant alternative to your normal jacks. Simply plug the hose into your exhaust pipe, stick the balloon under the frame of the car, and let the exhaust lift the car up so you can change the tire. Apparently, it's strong enough to lift a three-ton vehicle 18 inches for up to 45 minutes, which should be enough time for even the most inept of us to change a tire. Hit the jump for a video of it in action.

its not only inflatable, it uses the exhaust gas! >_<

looks pretty dangerous if the hose comes loose off the exhaust pipe.

I would think it would stall the car pretty quick with that much back pressure.

They are actually pretty useful and thought out pretty well...

So they are reasonably safe, and no they don't make the car die... Remember where we live, this thing has the lawyers stamp of approval. Besides, ever try to use a jack on a muddy road??? It just doesn't work, BUT the Airbags will.

I guessing there's a valve somewhere, that allows air to flow one direction only.

I wouldn't want to use this in a closed garage though, since the car will be running and hence there'll probably be fumes

imo, would that mess up the body panels?? pretty interesting idea, but i'd stick to a regular jack.

Well you can also use a Shop vac on Blow I imagine so car exhaust isn't a requirement. But if you are in your garage it would be really handy to be able to lift 1/2 your car, place your proper jackstands, and then settle the car on the jack stands.

No worries about body panels as you place the entire thing under the car and with it's wide footprint it distributes the load fairly evenly.

Mostly though they are good for emergencies out in soft soil, wet grass, soggy shoulder they are the bomb.

Range Rover should invent a system like this to make their cars be able to float across rivers.
