Arrow 17x7 and slicks 225/45 for autox?

Hi. I'm from Perú.

I have a wheel set just for autocross: Konig 17x7 but i don't know what tires pick. I only have 2 options:

Federal 595 RS-RR 215/45/17 ($127 per tire) or

Maxxis RC1 (slick tw 100) 225/45/17 ($140 per tire)

Wich of this 2 will be better with the 7" rim?

Thanks and greetings from Perú!

I think a 225 rcomp on a 7" wheel is too big. I used to run a 225 on a 7.5" wheel and there were no issues with fitment. Also, not sure if an rcomp is a good choice for autocross. I used to run them on a shorter track that had only a few hard braking zones; it was difficult to get temperature into the tires early in my run.

I believe that you asked this questing somewhere else already. Anyhow, as Donutz said 215 will be better for 7" rim and Rcom tired probably won't get hot in autocross.

Doing some quick searching, the Maxxis RC-1 looks like a road course slick. I don't think either of those tires are good choices for autox.
