Pressurized Bottles

Today I went to Lowes and purchased Pressurized Bottles for the products I tend to use the most. Its great because the bottles are larger therefore I do not have to refill as much, and you don't have to squeeze constantly. Just give it a pump and pull the trigger.

They were around $6 a bottle and I highly recommend them for products like wheel cleaners, degreaser's, and your carpet shampoo of choice. I wish they had some that were just blank, but I had to get ones with green writing all over the sides.

I thought I would share my experience and feel free to comment!

Thanks,
Jared

Nice, I'll have to check out lowes, I could use those for some products. I have a bigger one gallon sprayer that I use with degreaser, I love it as the wand lets me get into tight areas easily.

Where did you them, I'm guessing somewhere around the garden section?

Nice, I saw exactly those when I was looking for regular empty spray bottles. I should have picked up a couple.

I have a related question. What are you guys doing with wheel acid and plastic bottles. I have to constantly take my sprayer out of the bottle and pump it a few times with soapy water so that they'll last. If not, by the second use, the acid has eaten through the plastic and I have to swap sprayers.

well it comes in plastic bottles, (wheel brightener) I have not had a problem with it so far, I had been using it in zep sprayers for a good while now, and switched to the pump sprayer about 2 months ago! Maybe the sprayers you use were no good. You dilute it right?

I've used them in all types of plastics bottles. Specifically the chemical resistant ones. Zep is one of them. Im shocked this hasn't occured for you. Yes I dillute. In fact, when i rarely do use it, its dilluted at 4:1.

Yeah, they're high volume sprayer, so it spits a lot of product but definately throws out an even patter. Heavy duty too, what sucks with them and all sprayers I have encountered is that acid based products eat away at the insides of the sprayers if you leave it with product in it. You have to take out the sprayer, clear it out, and clean it quickly with some plain or soap water.

I sometimes forget to do this and cost me a trip to Homedepot just to get a nice sprayer.

Joy, are these the ones you're using? These are what I was going to get but if you say they don't last I'll look into something else.

Thanks, I got mine at home depot and I didn't see those, so I'll have to make a run to lowes.

If you read the side of the sprayer's I bought, it talks about how heavy duty and anti-corrosive they are. They were designed for pesticide's, fertilizers, and weed killer products therefore I am not worried about my products eating the inside of the bottle. The strongest products I use are my CG Citrus Wheel Cleaner and CG Extreme Orange which in all reality are not that strong after I dilute them. I tend to stay away from harsh products like Wheel Brightener and CG Grime Reaper to ensure I do not harm anything. My philosophy on every part of the detail is just like polishing; always start on the least aggressive path and work your way up. Most of my clients come once a month and have relatively new cars, so I don't have to worry about enormous build-up. In conclusion I would recommend going to your local Lowes and taking a gander at the bottles to see how tough and anti-corrosive they are. I think you will be surprised.

Thanks,
Jared

Like I said, I have been dealing with Acid for almost 3 years of my 5 year detailing career and my only solution to this apparent "phenomenon" has been to flush the inside of the sprayer with clean or soapy water.

well i got some sprayers from CG that are chemical resistant. it didnt come with a bottle, but the sprayer head has lasted me with straight wheel brightener for a while now, showing no signs of deterioration.

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...uct%5Fid=14838

that sprayer head looks like the one i have.
