DEATH NOTE
YES!!! A "Live-Action" action Movie of the very popular Anime series with none other than one of my favorite actors ever, playing RYUK: Willem Dafoe!
NETFLIX continues it's incredible "original programming domination" of television. Quote:

This particular story I believe will translate well on film and live action. It is mostly High School after all.

Thise are 2 of if not the most epic Animes of all time! There was talks of both becoming live action films but have not materialized...

I'm sure if Ghost in the Shell does well at the box office, those two movies will be remade for live action as well. Looking forward to giving Death Note a shot. My girlfriend mentioned she liked that one when she watched it uears ago, though I never tried it myself.

Finally watched this. Very entertaining IMO! If you appreciate the anime, you will definitely enjoy! But even if not, it's worth a watch.

Saw it the other day. Entertaining for sure. What I noticed though is the need for movies to turn every major character into a white person. Why is that?
Doctor Strange - the Ancient One was supposed to be Asian The Great Wall - wtf was a white dude doing there? Birth of the Dragon (Bruce Lee) - focuses mainly on a white dude Ghost in the Shell - should have casted an Asian actress. I mean, they tried to make Scarlett look more Asian. Might as wel have casted one. |

I saw this couple days ago. It wasn't bad.
Lights scream had me rolling. Lakeith Stanfield did a great job portraying L. His posture and mannerisms were spot on. Willem Dafoe freakin nailed it with the voice acting for Ryuk. |

Sometimes I actually think some of the decision makers (for films) honestly believe that only whites watch movies/films? *sigh* This NOT meant to be a "racial discussion", simply an observation with regard to actor selection and portrayals of certain characters which the original story clearly did not intend. Still quite entertaining IMO:
