2011 335xi: Recommendation needed near northern NJ

Hi Guys, I bought a 2011 335xi (~60k miles, bluewater metallic exterior) over the weekend.

Before purchasing, I got pre-purchase inspection done @ BMW of Manhattan and couple of things came up.

1. Rear brake pads need replacement (I think rotor too) - Dealer quote $825
2. Brake fluid flush - Dealer quote $260
3. Engine Splash Shield - Dealer quote $250 if I remember correctly.

The car was being used during winter by seller, so I was thinking of getting full detailed. I promise to post pics after detailing

Any recommendations on detailing shop (+ paint correction) in Northern NJ?

Are above quotes reasonable for repairs or any other independent certificate BMW auto body shop, northern NJ?

Appreciate your help.

I think you could do much better on the brake repairs. May want to watch a few youtubes on changing your own rotors and pads. pretty basic and can be done in driveway with a jack stand. But even if you do not want to you can get that done much cheaper. The splash shield for 250 including labor (put on lift couple of screws) good deal part cost about that much. Fluid service typical price range but again if so inclined you can do it.

Matt- Relevant to this thread, so I'll ask here- do you do detailing? I've got a guy more local to me, but I'd definitely entertain and see what your prices would be on correcting the clearcoat swirls the previous owner put all over my nice black paint!

West 10 Car wash does some amazing detailing jobs, my family used them, and they make our cars look fantastic. They're located in Succasunna, NJ, off exit 28 on rt 80.

As Far as a brake job, That's an expensive brake job! I agree, brakes are easy peasy to replace, and it would be great experience to learn to do them yourself. Really only need basic tools to do it. A brake job for pads and rotors should run you around $300-370 with labor, if you don't want to tackle it yourself.

You have the exact same car as I do! Congratulations!
Sorry but I have no suggestions. I was just looking for an appropriate thread to send my first post. Seems I need to do that before I am a member in good standing and post my own new thread.
Good luck with that beautiful car!

I upgraded all four rotors and break pads to powerstops(slotted and perforated) for 600 bucks and if you know someone maybe they can throw them on for 150 bucks. It's a good deal. Ill leave the link in the bottom. I think autozone gives you 20% off so maybe you can get them for under 500.

Thanks everyone. I guess you all have inspired me to replace, at least, break pads & rotors my own. I originally thought I would do it myself but was worried about the sensor part (electronics) but sounds like it's not that complicated (I watched few YT videos as well, looks duable).

Awesome. You know what's funny .. I realized that my car doesn't have backup camera after I made purchase (that's stupid though). Anyways, Project #2: Install backup camera my own
