Good price for TRW M3 control arms?

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...rade-bmwmcakit

Is this a good price for this set? Been eyeballing this upgrade for a while

I've seen it for only slightly lower so that is a good price. Make sure you order the installation kit (shown at bottom) as it's needed to replace all nuts and bolts.

Some people are comfortable with re-using the nuts and bolts, but, it is probably a little risky. For what it's worth, Bentlley is clear about renewing all the fasteners.

I had a feeling that you will bring up recommendation like that. I say is absolutely OK to reuse!

I have reused the bolts once, one time, and didn't have any issues. The only reason I reused the bolts is because I knew they had never been reused since I was the one that installed them. having said that, Bentley and Rheingold say they are one time use so the by the book way is to replace them, just as you said. I replace them every time now, not worth the risk to me.

One additional risk with reuse is if the person is not the original owner of the car, there is no way to know for sure the bolts have not been reused already. So a person not switching them out will now be reusing a bolt possibly more than once. Not worth it to me.

You could very well be right. But, when you torque them to spec and go the additional 90deg, they are really torqued. I've read enough about torque to yield and stretch bolts, that i felt like for the ~$50 it was worth the comfort.

I'm probably anal about this sort of thing, but, I've had self inflicted screw ups in the past.

Is the locking nuts that you need to be concerned not the bolt. If they have been over torqued at some point is possible not to be able to re torque them. However if the nuts re torque just fine... why replace them?
They are oval shape:

I have re used many with success, like 9 out of 10, multiple times.

Like I said, I'm probably over cautious. At least I won't be thinking about these particular nuts and bolts for a while as I just did this on my car 2 months ago.

If you live in a state that uses Salt on the roads in the winter, I'd probably replace the bolts. Corrosion of bolts and nuts will weaken them, and that's not a good thing at 80mph on the interstate hwy.

Like I said some BMW self locking nuts are oval, not round. Take a close look:

There's no reason not to use new hardware. You're taking it all apart anyway, why not spend a few extra bucks to refresh all the bits that could have potentially experienced wear?

Where have you seen these lower?

FCP will usually price match.

You can get the front and rear m3 control arms for about $670.00.

There may or may not be any performance gain by getting the m3 control arms for the rear.

However, if you had the m3 control arms for the rear, your rear tires will have a natural .75 camber like the front. As a result, your tires both front and rear will wear evenly under spirited driving conditions.

If your stock rear control arms are over 100k, you should consider the m3 control arms for the rear. They do not cost a significant amount more than OEM.

You do know what torque to yield means, right?....

If it's a ZNS fastener it should NOT be reused. If it's a lock but equipped bolt and but combination the screw is typically not torque to yield. The Bentley manual details all the fasteners which are torque to yield. If they do not get replaced you will not maintain proper axial load.

I paid just under 300 shipped for mine from offset motorwerks. Came with nuts and the headlight leveling rod, about a year ago.
