Help Needed in Delaware Near Philly- Need Codes Read, Car Misfiring

Do you like whiskey? Wine maybe? Do you live near Wilmington, Delaware and have a Cobb Accessport/anything else that can read car codes and want to help me out?

My car is misfiring so it's most likely a bad coil or spark plug. Both were replaced 11,000 miles ago and I had one of the new coils cause a short misfire when i first installed them. That went away after I took the offending coil out and reinstalled, or so i thought. I have a Cobb Accessport myself but, thanks to my wonderful luck, the screen burned out apparently since the last time I used it and I can't read the codes my car is throwing to troubleshoot the issue (sending the Accessport out for repair this week) . Perfect timing too since I was supposed to drive back up to New Jersey this weekend and, of course, this is my only car.

If you like whiskey, you have a bottle of Glenlivet 12 yr with your name on it if you come read a few car codes. If you're into wine I'm sure my fiance has a bottle you can have. You would also have my gratitude for helping bail me out of a tough spot. Who knows, maybe we could even cruise in our cars when mine decides to function properly again. The possibilities are endless.

Any takers? Please no murderers, I enjoy being alive. Thank you in advance if someone does roll though.

you're saying you reinstalled a bad coil and didn't replace it with a new one?

if you're near philly go to vac - they're great.

no I was saying i got a misfire in cylinder 3 after installing new coils, removed the new coil, installed the old one, cleared codes and had no misfire. I then reinstalled the new coil again, cleared codes and had no misfires for 8 months on the new coils.

Regardless, I was able to get an OBDII reader and determined the issue to be a bad fuel injector. I'll be going to Helix next week.

If you want to come out to philly, I have ISTA. No charge to read.

Also FYI, a generic OBDII scanner will work to diagnose a simple misfire issue such as bad coil or spark plug. But anything more involved than that a BMW specific scanner helps. You can get autozone or the like to read for free with a generic scanner.
