Issue Turning off Engine

After searching & searching, I cannot find a thread related to the issue I am having so here we go:

I have a 10/2008 build E92 with 52k miles on it, I’ve owned the car for about a 1.5 years now and just began tuning. Over the past couple of months, I have walnut blasted and installed JB4, VRSF CP, and BMS DCI.

Issue #1: I have been running map1 on 93 octane pump gas since installing the parts and the car was running well up until a few weeks ago. The issue is turning the engine off – I normally only needed a single push of the Start/Stop button to turn the engine off, but now that causes the engine to come down to almost a stall, then fire itself back up to regular idle RPM. I now need to press and hold the button until the engine is completely off.

Issue #2: A couple weeks ago, I started experiencing a misfire in cyl 6 during WOT pulls; running the engine above 4k RPM caused a misfire/cylinder deactivation that was remedied with a simple stop/start of the engine. I avoided any spirited driving for a little bit and finally got around to replacing all 6 spark plugs/coils last night (NGK 5992 gapped to 0.022, Delphi S55 coil packs). After install, my car was running normal and WOT pulls were smooth & strong – issue #2 resolved.

I assumed my engine shut off issue was related to the ignition issue causing the misfire, however replacing the plugs & coils did not resolve issue #1 and I still need to hold down the button to turn off!

At the surface this issue is just a minor inconvenience, however it is an ugly one since this is a BMW and I shouldn’t need to tell people how to turn my car off. Also, I am afraid there is an underlying issue with the ignition system.

Any guidance/advice will be much appreciated, I will be working on the car this weekend installing DPs.

Thanks

Bump

Hoping someone has dealt with this before or can help diagnose the underlying issue!

Thanks

I know you all were waiting patiently for a response to this, updating my JB4 firmware resolved the issue
