Bluetooth Pairing issues with S7 Edge Running Android 7

Hi,

My S7 Edge recently updated to android 7.0 does not pair at all with my 07 335i e92(Proffesional iDrive). When pairing, I enter the code on both phone and iDrive, car says: 'Pairing Successful', and shows the phone in the 'connected phones' list, but on the phone the BMW-XXXX does not go in the paired devices list. The phone dissapears from the car 'Paired Phones' list in 20-30 seconds or when navigating away from that menu page.

Before the update it was connecting fine, and also tried my old HTC One M8(android 4.2) to test if the fault isnt with the car, and that pairs perfectly fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Bump. Any help please? Been reading on Android 7 and Bluetooth issues, but it seems they were ironed out by now. Is it a compatibility issue?

Ok you just said you upgraded the phone operating system changed and now it doesn't work . So I think you need to take this to the Android forums.

Yeah I did, but no answer as of yet. I guees my question should have been if there any other owners that had this issue with android 7 and 2007 professional iDrive, and if so what did they do? Is it a compatibility issue, or the update didn't go well on mt phone.

Any way you could roll the phone back.
Also if there was a problem with your phone connecting
other users with the same update might be experiencing it
on other cars.

A simple google search shows this to be andriod 7 issue
many more threads like the above .

My car is 320i and my phone is galaxy s7 running android 7.0.
But I don't have same issue.
I checked my carkit verision. It is TX-3.5.8.
You should check your carkit version.
I think your carkit s/w version is not newest version.

mojo have you checked to see if you are on Android 7 as
Android 6 does not have this problem. And some phone providers are still on 6.

Yours is a 2007 so that means CCC iDrive right? What am I doing wrong? I tried both mine and my GF's S8+ and neither will pair.

Maybe a phone provider list would be of some use since they
tend to put extra crap apps in there packages .

New GS8 won't pair with my 330i's CCC. Seems the phone times out just as code is entered into iDrive. Going to try some methods mentioned by others. Provider is sprint if that helps anyone

Any update on this as my wife's S7 edge is just an expensive paperweight in her 06 E92 with idrive. My Sony Xperia works just fine in her car.

Not managed to solve it yet. From further research it seems to be that the new 'Smart' s/w for Bluetooth protocol is the culprit. It is there to minimise bluetooth battery usage on the phone, but it works best with devices with bluetooth 4.0 and up. Hope a solution bocomes available soon...

I'm having the same problem as others here with my '06 330i and my S7 running 7.0. How do you check what your carkit version is? Contacted BMW CONNECT DRIVE and their answer was, it's 10 years old so we're not supporting it anymore.

S7 Edge Blutoth Work Around

I have a 2007 335i. MY S7 Edge will not pair with my factory radio as with everyone else on here. Took it and had the software updated and still nothing. Mind you, my husbands Note 4 will connect with the radio directly. I found the iSimple - BluStream Bluetooth Factory Radio Module - Black

Model: ISBT52
SKU: 1672638

at Best Buy and it works for phone calls as well as playing music from your phone.

Hope this helps.

May or may not have been the update rolled out last week on my Sprint GS8, but my phone pairs with my 2006's CCC now.
