SSTT in 03/2008 production date

So, I should be getting my e90 in a few weeks. Its ready for shipment. Will any of the current piggybacks or tunes work with the new ecu?? Maybe the sstt? I'm definately gonna get the V3 when Shiv figures a way around the new computers, but I want something to hold me over till then. I already have DP's and BMS filter.

Some1 said they tested the SSTT on the new x6 so i assume yes it should work.

Eurobahn and Split Second have already tested the SSTT on a 03/08 production date 335i with no problems.

The procede will work too. Just don't hook up the yellow loom (fuel control). And drop boost to 11-12psi level through the user torque table. You would only have boost and timing control for the time being until we do some testing on the new ecu. But even wired like this, it will offer more control than the sstt or jb1 which only raise boost and let the ecu do the rest.

Aftermarket DP (Downpipes) eliminate the main catalytic converter that's integrated with the factory turbo downpipe and thus increases engine power output (torque and horsepower)

There are also aftermarket DPs that come with a high flow cat converter if one does not want to rain a catless DP.

Thanks for the reply, but one more question: what is a catalytic converter, catless dp, and catback? Please and thank you.

Unless I missed an update from Eurobahn, my understanding is that the SSTT will work on the 03/08 builds, but they haven't gotten it attached to a dealer's computer systems to make sure it doesn't throw a hidden code. There are some concerns that the 03/08 builds, even if not blocking plug & play/piggyback tunes, will log "enhanced" boost or other abnormal output patterns.

Given that, the SSTT would intuitively be the safest since it works within the ECU's normal confines (~11psi for, e.g., altitude correction). Someone please correct me if I missed an update.

Congrats on the new car!

what kind of DP's are you running, are you not getting any CEL as of right now. you might need o2sims, but that is with any tune combined with downpipes.

I have the rr dp's sitting in the box with the 02 sims. Not worried about the cel. I'm worried about bad boost spiking with the dp's and sstt.

Why? Are other people reporting this problem?

a couple of people have SSTT and Dp's on the forum, but if your going catless DP at all, i would get a boost gauge no matter what tune, but i personally havent heard of boost spiking with this combo as of yet.

Hmm I don't there there clear info with SSTT + catless DP. boost gauge is a must, but I don't think this combo will give you any crazy spikes

Grab the SSTT. You'll love it. The low price and ease of installation is the icing on the cake.

Shiv, now that you know somewhat where the problem is, do you anticipate v81 DME users to ever be able to have full tuning capability with the PROcede V3? I read your comment as a temporary solution, with a full solution coming soon hopefully. At this time can you comment on whether you think you can overcome this DMEs safeguards with regard to fuel control?

I'd rather wait for everything to be worked out with the v81 dme. I definately want the V3. Nothing else in my opinion beats it. But, I will need something to hold me over till it comes out.

I have a pretty good idea of what is making things tricky with the v81 DME. There's a quick and dirty way to get around it. But we don't do quick and dirty I fully expect to have a solution for it soon.
