Borla?

What do you guys think of Borla for my E90 335i? Any suggestions? I've also been looking at Dinan exchaust.

After I saw the clip on youtube of the borla exhaust, they basically won me over. It's the clip with the white 335 sedan. I have never heard the dinan one though.

I have the single resonator Borla cat back and after breaking it in it sounds a lot throatier than stock. What I like about it is the nice unricey rumble when you have a lead foot and quiet on the highway when you are just cruising along.

Cool, thanks for the input guys. I think I may just go with Borla. I'm just looking for a sweet sound when I race and a more queit sound for when I just drive normally. I don't want my car to sound like those noise making civics out there.

I have (single muffler) Borla with secondary cats gone and yes it drones between 2-2.5 rpm (60-70 mph cruising), the drone gets quieter if I switch to DS at those speeds. I drive an auto btw and have PM others with the same setup but they all have manual and they are reporting little drone.

The drone is bad enough that I am considering putting the 2nd cats back on.
But yes, the Borla sounds deep/throaty but it's not obnoxious.

Hope this helps.

If you dont like an obnoxious exhaust, then Borla is the one you want. Here's a video I made to give people an idea of what it's like from outside the car, then inside.

Enjoy, I hope it helps:

I think they are talking about the deep sound that is like if you are going like "mmmmmmmmm" in a super deep voice.

I have the single muffler with 2nd cats deleted which equals full-bolt on.
If you just buy the Borla exhaust (either the 2 mufflers or one muffler version) and not the 2nd cat delete pipes, you will have to gut the stock exhaust.

I will probably put the 2nd cats back on.......

I like the Borla. I have catless dps with Borla exhaust and the sound is very good. It does drone a bit around 2500, but I think that is fairly typical with this car. The tips are ugly as hell as hunter says, but hopefully we can fix that soon with some Dimisa Tips. Can anyone confirm the tip inlet diameter on the Borla is the same as stock, I'm too lazy to get under my low ass car and measure :P

Ya, I have to say that I think the Borla has my vote as well.

My order is going to be placed any day now with HP Autowerkes.
They have the borlas at a pretty good price.

I just really like their idea of the one muffler in the rear.

But doesnt the one muffler style require additional bends in the exhaust piping, potentially eqauting to a less smooth gas flow?

I love the borla sound but i wish it were a more straight design (aka two mufflers)
