at the Dyno
So I finally got to get to the Dyno here now waiting to get set up, I'm making 6 pulls and seeing if there will be any difference with the open BBS I take Vs it with the AFE intake box cover. All pulls will be with the hood closed also.
Mods are Wedgecustom tune 20PSI VSFR 5 inch intercooler Pheniox Racing CP BMS intake. No DP's And stock catback( flapper mod) 6 sps auto XI sedan I will also be logging and videoing the pulls

Three pulls done middle pull was 407 wtrq and 289 WHP, the Dyno I use is also the lower reading " truest IMO" around just took off the AFE cover and letting it cool a bit
Boost was 21.7 AF's look solid at 11.8 Last edited by ANMVQ; 04-14-2017 at 03:02 PM.. |

Wow ok leaving the AFE cover on, two pulls I decided not to make the 3rd pull WHP was down to 277 and wtrq was down to 376 :/ open filter is no good.
Boost was down to 20.5 not a lot but still different than with the cover on Last edited by ANMVQ; 04-14-2017 at 03:01 PM.. |

I'll take the torque numbers all day long, but those HP numbers...huh. Curious to see the runs when you're able to post them.

AWD Dyno, not sure what the AIT's should look like but they were in the 140's.
Again this dyno is "known" to read 15% lower than any other one near me. I've been using this dyno for years. My bolted G made 324 WHP and 272 WTRQ here last year http://www.datazap.me/u/anmvq/4th-ge...3-6-9-12-13-15 http://www.datazap.me/u/anmvq/4th-ge...21-22-23-24-25 Dyno compare without the cover was the lower of the 2 runs. A lot lower I was very surprised. I could actually see the difference in the runs, one the ones with the cover on the azz would squat, with is just seem to stay the same height ? Dyno vid, butt sinks

What was your baseline? Curious because 289whp is basically stock.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Happy to know the cover won't hurt performance of the BMS intake. I will definitely be leaving the aFe cover on until further notice.

I hope it's not running sub 300whp at 20psi...lol

No surprise from the logs. Crap tune. Mentioned this weeks ago and posted a virtual dyno of his log. Was attacked by an idiot...

Definitely some work to be done on that tune. Timing corrections everywhere and isn't holding boost well.

A lower load target tune with more timing (without corrections) would probably put down better numbers. Some people have been posting "94 octane" logs which I'm guessing means they are mixing in a few gallons of e85. Chances are those logs are really done with e30 for closer to 96 octane. I really didn't want to have to move to e85 but it's the only reasonable way to bump octane enough to get any more agressive. Edit: I went back and saw where this is exactly what you pointed out to him a while back. You can run all the boost you want but if peak cylinder pressure is occuring after the piston has already traveled half way back down the cylinder you're just not going to create power. I guess that's what happens though when you're etuning just to make the logs look good instead of tuning on a dyno too to see how far off mbt you are. The log above is clearly knock limited. Ok cool, I hope so,
Can someone explain what the "load" actually does? I noticed that when we turned this up I steered having sputtering issues( HPFP) and a huge drop in fuel pressure, so I replaced my HPFP. I still see a drop tho? Thank you |

Does this look any better? I went back to an earlier tune we had?
