Did I break something?
So I may just be a little paranoid but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
~ a week ago, I had just left campus and while slowing down to make a right turn....now, I generally don't speed much on public roads, and since I don't speed much, I have my fun by taking turns really hard.....I was doing the same that night but before I even started turning, while I was on the brakes, I'm positive I heard a "snapping" sound. I made the turn and looked where I had just came from to see if there was anything on the road or if I had run something over....Didn't see anything.... I'm also pretty sure I've heard that sound before, although not in a while and never that loud.....I couldn't notice any changes while driving the rest of the way home but kept the incident in my mind.....than, last night, I was coming off a stop sign, I WASN'T PUSHING THE CAR AT ALL, but I swear it almost felt like that steering feel when you floor the car really hard and all the weight goes to the back, leaving the front really "soft".... Could I have done something? I don't wanna take it to the dealership unless I'm sure of something since the dealership here won't do crap unless they see the car come in on a tow-truck.....I've still got 20k left on my warranty so I figure if I did do something, it'll definitely make itself known after a few thousand miles, but I'll driving cross-country this summer and don't wanna get stuck on the side of the road somewhere.....or worse yet, have something completely fail while I'm doing some "spirited" driving....... |

Under cornering load the a snap can come from anywhere, but let's try to figure this out methodically and say your sways are under load and depending on whether it was a right or left turn check the wheel that was on the outside and see if the sway bar endlink snapped from the front or the rear. If you car's running fine though, I wouldn't sweat it, but if it really bothers you, I'd go to the dealer, if you have a warranty use it. Good luck
