I find info only for 320,325,330,335i cars feels like 318 is forgotten.

Save your money.... you would need to throw thousands of $$ just to get that few Hp. Its a 318i its meant for fuel economy

Yes I will agree with you, but this car was a gift on birthday! I know better sell 318i and buy something better, but I dont want to do that. I want to upgrade my car what I have now.

Please don't put a quad exhaust on your 318i. The intake is also a waste of money and gains badically no performance. Just delete your mufflers keep it simple and don't waste your money on useless gains.

Like someone else said your best option is probably cosmetic mods.

Okay good thing you don't car about money. You could buy new aftermarket doors/trunk/hood that are lighter. Could possibly cut the roof off and replace it with a carbon fiber piece. Strip out your old seats with new lightweight aftermarket ones. Suspension new lower ratio differential. Then get a tune for your car.

Or get a crazy engine transplant and upgrade your suspension.

Unfortunately your options are extremely limited, if not, nearly non-existent.

The simple fact of the matter is 318's are not meant for speed, but higher fuel economy (as mentioned previously). With that, typical things like, intake, headers, exhaust will all add up to a lot of money ... with very little gains. You would likely need a tuning (chip) to get the most out of what you installed, and since that is not an option ... it's best to leave the engine and exhaust alone.

Personally you'd be better off putting the funds into a performance suspension and aggressive setup for the wheelset. You might not get the extra HP that you want, but unless you just drive around a city all day ... you'll be able to use more of the HP you have ... more of the time. It might not have the HP you want ... but will be faster overall ... and I'd bet, more fun to drive.

I think your best upgrade for speed, and maybe only, would be getting a shorter geared differential. Are you manual/auto?

I'm all for useless engine upgrades, but your platform is somehow worse than the n52. I would take it to a track and see what you really want. When i did i never once thought it needed more horsepower. Granted I've got 100 more than you, but you get my point.

I found some dynos... 160-170HP to the wheels is not a slow car(maybe it is on this fourm) but i bet it pulls strong... im serious about those gears. You'll feel like a racecar driver lol

Because you can't get more power from a 318i, an intake it makes no difference. There are few more models above lol 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i.
As mentioned before. Carbon fiber parts! Carbon fiber hood roof trunk. Get yourself a set of Rays light weight wheels, but out all the cats and resonator and muffler, then take out the back seats and CF bucket seat. But remember at the end, its still a 318i

Yeah but why not go into the big boy league and put in a v-8 from a e90 m3? Every e90 3 series engines are "interchangeable" between cars.

if you plan to keep this engine, delete your mufflers.

handling upgrades > wasting money on a 140hp engine. get coilovers and good tires and rims.

then, focus on cosmetic.
