safe to run a tune with high mileage?

friend of mine just bought a used 335i with 30k miles and wants to get a SSTT

is it safe for him to do even with high mileage?

no, once the car hits 10,000 miles you can't tune it anymore, everybody knows that.

Damn, wish I had known that before I installed a tune on my 02 VW GTI with 65K miles...I would have saved myself from the inconvenience and frustration of a much more fun car with nominal impact on reliability...lol

i agree that 30k isn't high mileage.... but how about the question in general? i suspect that if i keep the car long term (not leasing so i probably will), and by that i mean 100k ish) i suspect that i will take my tune out somewhere down the line just for peace of mind and because hopefully ill have something faster by then also
