Odd Code with Boost Leak - Blown CP
I am curious as to why I am getting code 387F (not a boost leak code) when I just recently blew my stock charge pipe.
I am currently showing 5 codes: 2774: Mass Air Flow (common code on tuned n55? ignore?) 2C57: charge air pressure control (makes sense I can see my charge pipe is blown off right by the throttle body with the clip still on) 2906: Intake air system: Suspicion of leaks between turbocharger and intake valves 2C90: blowoff valve (common code on tuned n55? ignore?) 387F: Power management, closed-circuit current violation I have read that I could have wired the JB4 ground cable touching some body paint? Will have to double check but I dont think I installed any component of the jb4 incorrectly as it was working fine before I blew the CP. Just ordered an ER CP... hopefully I can clear all the codes and runs like a charm after. I am also worried because I had to drive the car around 70 miles (babied it) with a cracked CP. It shut off at a speed of 5mph which was a little concerning. Anyways - have not and will not drive until this new pipe comes. Will keep this thread updated. Thanks |

I don't think the previous owner had it tuned, and i personally have not installed one so if I had to guess id say there is no oil catch can on the car.
Also only had the jb4 installed for 24 hours before i blew the charge pipe |

I would double check all jb4 connections, install the new charge pipe, clears all the codes and restart the engine then drive nicely for a bit on map 0 and make sure no codes pop up. Then switch to map 1 and drive nicely and make sure no codes then WOT My CP blew on stock tune... plastic weld -_-

Sounds like it threw all the codes after the CP blew. Have you reset the codes and set all the user adjustable settings to default?

Installed an ER charge pipe yesterday afternoon - all seems to be well. Ran map zero for awhile just as a precautionary measure.
Ran map 1 today and the thing pulls. I am a little nervous that I installed the c-clip holding the pipe to the throttle body incorrectly. I lined up the grooves and clipped the pipe on exactly how it was oriented on the stock pipe - although it didnt seem to lock as well. May have a friend who is a little more mechanically inclined check it out. Otherwise I'm all good. |

Yikes.. forgot to take out the o ring from the stock pipe...
Possibly why I got a boost leak code for like a minute today. Will install ASAP, but sd306 will it be harmful driving around without the o ring installed? |

If you take it easy for a few miles because you dont have time right now i doubt it, but i'd get it on asap. I did this with the turbo inlet and was like dammit
