Very confused about meth and race gas
First off all I understand race gas is a term for 100 octane fuel - correct?
In my country (Greece) we have Shell petrol stations which has V-Power fuel. This is 97 Octane raiting, and V-Power Racing which is 100 octane - is that the famous racing fuel? I read you could run meth on 93 fuel or racing fuel for the same resuly So my question is this: Im pretty sure my car (Vishnu + mods) reduces boost or timing or something in hot temperatures. The pull is no way near the same in summer than it is in winter. I thought if I added meth to keep IAT's down this would give me "full winter boost performance" Have I misunderstood what meth does? If so how can I safely run higher boost in hot temperatures? Thanks!! |

Methanol offers IAT suppression and octane benefits. With methanol you can run higher boost and more ignition timing.
Race Fuel is usually anything over 100 octane. There are fuels over 100. However, some race fuels have lead, which should be avoided. Usually over 103 but not 100% sure on that. |

Sorry I'm still confused tbh
Do you mean race gas is anything over 100 ron, (something like 93 mon in the US??) Therefore if I have access to 100 ron would there be any advantage to running meth or would water do the job for temperatures? |
