335is clutch upgrade question

Hey everyone so I ordered my 335is clutch kit from ecstuning that comes with the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and a couple other things. I was wondering if there was anything else I need to buy in preparation to do the clutch install other than the kit I purchased? Any info is appreciated. Thank you

Kit comes with all you need, you might want a brass pivot pin to be added.

And also does anyone know if I'll need an alignment tool? Or does it come with the kit?

From the online chat:

Me: Hi does https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...n/21207603248/ include the alignment tool?
Mike P: Hello, thank you for contacting ECS Tuning. Give me one moment while I review your question.
I do not show that comes with the alignment tool

How many miles are you at?

If you're high in mileage, there's a host of additional parts that you should probably refresh while tearing things up.

The brass pivot pin is located here
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part.../013236ecs01a/

its not 100% needed, but its replaces a plastic part. If you are in there doing things, might as well.

you need an alignment tool for the clutch install.

Consider the following:
New flywheel - Luke brand
Pilot bearing
Spring clip
Upgraded trans mounts
New guibo
Shaft seal
Driveshaft center carrier
Brass pivot pin
CDv delete
Rear Main seal

Add this to Jklad's list: New Trans fluid. Maybe a short shifter and an illuminated shift knob.

Clutch has been installed. Flywheel looked fine. It was about a 9 hour job. It's really not hard to do at all. No one should be scared of doing it themselves with a friend or 2. Really important to get lots of extensions and swivels. The car feels so much better now that the clutch is catching. After the jb4 it slipped like crazy. Problem is now fixed and feels awesome. Thanks for the help eveyone

The pilot bearing is a pita to remove. Anyone who decides to do this should read about it here and on n54 tech.

Yes it is. It's an even bigger PIA to remove if it goes bad and you just replaced your clutch lol

My clutch started to slip when i flashed the mhd e25 map sadly..
Does anyone provide a install kit that includes what you minimum need for a clutch swap? Not the actual clutch but the install kit. Ecs tuning has a very generous kit but think that is little overkill?

Since you have everything open, you might as well do the flywheel too. The DMFW falls apart once they're worn out on these cars.

Also depends on your power goals too. This is more for other folks looking to tackle this, but glad it worked out for you .

Unless your eventual power aspirations are > 500 whp, stick with the DMFW. The steel SMFW is the way to go if you need an SMFW. The aluminium one is a no no.
