Real Time Traffic Symbols

Blank white squares, one & two cars, exclamation marks, yellow squares with above symbols. Differences between white and yellow? Do any of these symbols have a "definite" definition? The road narrows sign is the only one that is intuitive to my feeble brain.

Does the engineer at WXYZ just hit any old button when he hears there is a problem?

Have you seen the symbol shaped like a book? That is "defined" as the user manual.

I don't have them all memorized and often look in the book. The best thing on there are the black triangles. If they are going in the direction you are on a high way you are in for some slow traffic. The closer together the triangles are - the more traffic (2 close together). The rest of it may tell me why traffic is slow, but it doesn't really matter - its slow.

They are all in the owners manual.

Winnie, I sincerely apoligize. I don't want to be one of your problems. ;>) I did read the manual, but my eyes must have had a long blink on page 154.

No shit sherlock. I love it when people say RTFM.

Possible translations:

1) I don't know
2) I'm upping my post count by 1!!!
3) I'm a snobby ass, I know the answer, but I'll post a stupid emoticon instead
4) I read the entire 9,000 page manual, hated it, and want all to share in my misery. I also read instruction manuals to VCRs, Food Processors and Color Copiers for fun.
5) I refuse to acknowledge the benefits and utility of an online car forum, and rather than be a positive member of the community and help, I'd rather be a dick.
6) I make manual's for a living, and depend on your reading them for future job security. Please help my son's college fund!

Addict,
I have to side with Winnie here. (And not just because I know what he is capable of.) I hate seeing repeated questions from people to lazy to search or RTFM. He got me to go look again, and third time was the charm.
