How much do you spend on fuel?

So I've just done my 2016/17 accounts & from last April to this I've spent £1663.97 on petrol & covered 7980 miles, ok so I use the expensive stuff Shell V Power @ around £1.27 a litre. That works out at 288 gallons with a average return of 27.7 miles per gallon If my maths are correct.
I think that's fairly good for a 335i, what do you guys spend & how many miles per gallon do you get?

do you mean 1.27 per litre?

I've had my 335i just over a week and i'm getting 24.5mpg.

Everytime i start the car i swear someone has siphoned some

I'm going to start tracking my mileage and Litres used to see if something is off.

But it's probably just down to me not being used to such a big engine car

EDIT: Ran your numbers through a spreadsheet I have. I got the following

GXTwo yes I did, edited accordingly
Welcome to 335i ownership
24.5 doesn't seem to bad & as you've only had it for a week or so you should see those numbers increase over the course of a year, unless you constantly drive it like your hairs on fire

I worked on 5 litres to a gallon but it's actually 4.54. I will recalculate, now my figures don't look so good

I have a N57 325d 2010 auto flappy paddle.
I get 500 miles per tank with lots of cold starts and short trips.

Average 38.9MPG over the tank. I have used around 5 tanks with near identical results. I am happy with that as a map on this engine will see 300bhp and drives effortlessly.

I have an M3 Evo for poor MPG 😂

Over the last 12 months I have covered 28,725 Miles, used 2,984 Litres of V Power Diesel and spent £3,882 at the fuel pump.

Averaged around 44 MPG driving up and the M6 and M1, kind of feel disappointed when see 335i owners getting 30 MPG !

That's a lot easier, I'd worked it out with a pen & paper

That's a lot of miles, I've only done 3500 since October last year don't use mine much now

If I'm taking it easy on the motorway I get around 37mpg

I've done 50,000 miles in two years and averaged 38.9 mpg overall. That includes four track days too!

What track days did you do? I had a go at Lydd last year, was ok but a little sanitised though as you wasn't actually racing but good fun all the same.
38.9 mpgs good, I wouldn't want to do 25000 miles a year in a 335i, that would be expensive

I've done Oulton Park, Thruxton and Snetterton twice. The car performs well on track too.

Just looked back at mine for the last couple of years

2015/16 - 14,764 miles - £2,877.61
2016/17 - 12,038 miles - £2,637.45

All V-Power and a mix of E91 335i and F31 335i. It's going to get more expensive from now on as I've just bought an E90 M3.

Having owned an E60 M5, the M3 is positively "diesel like" in its fuel consumption. I'm almost 10mpg up on the M5!

My brother has an E60 M5 as well. He uses it about twice a week as he has a diesel company car. He was considering getting rid because of the fuel consumption. He spends about as much in 2 days as I do from a week or more of driving. A few times when it has had problems he's had the loan of various models like 530D's. He's tempted to go 540i, which thanks to the turbo and direct injection is more efficient and more tunable but just not an M car.

I average about 21mpg. Not because of the mods to the car but becuase of the start stop roads I have to drive on where I live and to get to work. Almost no motorway of dual carriageway miles where the mpgs really go up. I'm usually stuck behind someone doing 25 in a 30 zone.

On the occasions I do get onto motorways I can really raise the mpgs. I get about 32mpgs driving down to Santa Pod at rapid speeds. On those bits where it's a 50mph average speed check the mpgs go to 40.

However I have a secret. I use methanol (75% meth, 25% water) at high boost and that dumps in 1.9 litres of the stuff per minute. £1.40 a litre. Thanks to a turbo upgrade with more efficient compressors I can now run more power on premium petrol and meth than I could before.
When racing at Santa Pod I'd add a few litres of ethanol to raise the octane at £2.2 a litre. Half a tank isn't cheap!

Oh holy hell! Would love to have a go of one but would hate to try and run one. The thought of owning a car that does high singles / low teens on average would make me cry.
