Ordering my BMS Power Box (PBX)
I have a 330i and will be ordering that tune. Not looking to get lots of power from it, but maybe just to wake up the motor a bit more and have more throttle response which is what this tune delivers based on some research. Anything i should be aware of before installing the tune?
Im planning to delete my OEM resonator and adding an intake with air scoops in near future. |

Smash that thing with a hammer and get a real tune.

So getting rid of the lazy throttle is nothing? Sure it doesn't add power, but it most definitely changes the throttle percentages, which is what most people want more than extra power. Not all of us are wanting a race car for daily driving.

Exactly why I want it. My e90 is a daily and twice a day I have my 2 year old in the car so the race car is not an option.

We should find a way to move the technical threads that actually describe the wiring a function of these devices to a "sticky". The facts are in the wiring harness. |

The throttle remap made the car feel like it should have felt from the factory. No need to mash the throttle to get moving. On the autocross course, my car had to downshift less (automatic) and quickened overall from before the install. Sure this could have been a seat time thing, but considering I've owned 30 cars before this one, I feel as if the PBX does what it does well. Sure a tune is going to be all around better, but not everyone wants to drop the extra money when they are not going to run their cars hard all the time. All I am claiming is that the PBX remaps the throttle, so if that is what someone wants, I believe this is the cheapest method we have available right? |

If you have it floored- there is ZERO difference. Literally, there is nothing the PBX can do, at WOT, to change how the engine runs - if it did, it's all in your head. Maybe there's a difference in throttle response, but that's mostly because it makes the pedal overly sensitive to compensate for the conservative factory tune. Given the I/O of the PBX, there is just no way it can do what it's claimed too - the only other thing it can do is change the AFR, but since it only has TPS as an input, it's only doing this at WOT - and the 330i does NOT need more fuel at full-throttle (you actually lose power).

hey - while I'm jacking threads today
I have a good tune on my car but I feel like the engine doesn't rev fast enough and also inconsistently with the pedal. I know a PBX isn't the answer, but what is? Am I asking for a quick retune or an engine rebuild? lol
