Original struts/shocks @ 140k miles
... well at least 3 of the 4 were original
I bought the car in 10/2015 @ 113k miles and it rode pretty good so I had assumed the struts/shocks were replaced. My only complaints were at highway speeds it seemed a bit bouncy. I replaced all 4 and was surprised to find that only 1 strut had been replaced; the other three are all stamped with an 04/2010 date (it's a 06/2010 car). I've just read so many threads about the Sachs shock are done at 70k, I thought I'd post a different experience. I know you really can't tell much about them from pics, but here's a pic after it's 140k miles of use (silver-caped strut is the one that was replaced) ... |

cahme how the vehicle rode according to you and how the struts/shocks look like visually isn't the correct way to determine whether struts/shocks were in OK working condition. Proper way is to put them on a shock dyno. Don't get me wrong. You took them out at 140k and was happy with their performance until then. Someone else would have ditch them at half the miles.
