error updating DDE/DME unit firmware on E60 520d with genuine ICOM NEXT
Hi everyone,
First, some background: I drove an E36 coupe 323i for 7 years and recently I bought a E60 520d recently (need a family car) as well as an ICOM NEXT (genuine) that I share with my dad for diagnostics and retrofits. Using WinKfp 5.3.1 and ediabas 7.3.0, I managed to upgrade all the modules that Ista-P (v61) did not manage to upgrade (EKP, RLS, EC, KBM) with the exception of the DME/DDE. When trying to programme the DDE, Ista-P gives this error: Global.VehiculeCommunication.CoAPI.2020 - (CoAPI) - control module not responding ECU old: 7800770 ECU new: 7811742 WinKfp in REMOTE mode gives this error: Code 9000 Level PABD: Debug 09DDE604, DUAGNOSE_MODE (ECUPM): ERROR_ECU_CONDITIONS_NOT_CORRECT_OR_REQUEST_SEQUEN CE_ERROR. I found suggestions online to use the REMOTE:MOST_ASYNC_ab625 when I do, I get this error: Code: 2000 Level:Error : Error in EDIABAS or in ECU description file (SGBD) IFH-0004: Error in interface command 09DDE604 I'm not sure what to try next, any suggestion would be more than welcome! Thanks! TNXgalaxy |

That's for ICOM B and modules on MOST bus. You'll need REMOTE: DiagBus Use Easyconnect utility which will auto config your ediabas.ini |

thank you very much for the tip!
however as said previously, even in REMOTE mode I get an error. Could that be because the module is in a particular state and needs to be switched to an other state first? Thanks for the help |

Yes, I tried with ignition on, and I had a running E36 attached to generate power.
Also, my DDE has the following ZB No: 7800770, and as I could not find it using 'find ZUSB' in WinKfp, had to use 'update ZUBS' and select DDE604, which it is according to realoem: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&mg=&q=7800770 |

thanks for the proposition, unfortunately due to the time difference (it's 10pm here in Ireland right now), and the fact that I cannot access easily to the internet from where the car is, I'm afraid that will not be possible that way.
I have taken a couple of photos of my attempts, here is a picture of the error output I'm getting from WinKfp: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wkhdicin7w...57.20.jpg?dl=0 and this is what inpa tells me about the modules: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lf21abxh1o...36.55.jpg?dl=0 Last edited by tnxgalaxy; 05-29-2017 at 05:14 PM.. |

When using WinKfp, I select comfort mode and updating zusb, as the ZUSB number is not found through 'enter ZUSB'.
Also this is the error output and new ZUSB suggestion from ista-p in case it helps: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9fxyalwvpu...19.17.jpg?dl=0 |
