Need to pass inspection
MHD BEF, Pure 2, PI, and all of the supporting hardware. This is my month to pass inspection. I filled her up with 93, shut off the JB4 and drove for 150 miles. Prior to going to the inspection station I took her to my mechanic to see if I would pass. Nada. Pretty much all parameters either failed, or were not ready. I recalled that I did not shut off the BEF... I thought shutting off the JB4 would automatically do that. A week later I got the following codes on my el cheapo code reader: 36BE DME encoding variant not found. As I have MHD, maybe that would explain this. 387F Power management, current violation. I had a hit here that it was due to the battery cable recall. I am doubting this is valid as thst was addressed years ago. Maybe my sub power amp is drawing all the time?
I cleared the codes a week ago and have been driving. They are back again, however I am unable to get hooked up to my buddy's tester as he is out of town. Are these two codes anything to worry about? Should I leave these as is? My concern is that maybe these are nuisance codes that would have no bearing on the inspection, and there is no reason in resetting everything and having to drive another 100 miles to set everything to ready. Comments appreciated. God bless the fallen. |

Your failing codes are mainly evap, catalyst, and 02 sensors, all,cel and fails. A standard code reader will tell you what's ready and pending, depending were you are and what's allowed.

The codes I got were 36BE and 387B. They don't seem to have anything to do with evap, catalytic... I had those type of codes after I installed the catless and before the Area.74 Junior, what are you referencing for these two specific codes.
