add a quart of oil, dealer will do it for free if you go to them or do it yourself

BMW 5w30, Mobil 1 0w40, or Castrol 0w30 are all good choices

Either put oil in it yourself. Castrol Syntec 5w30. Or hit your BMW Assist button like the panicy little girl that you are and they will bring you oil.

I'm pretty sure you wont need any oil. I have had that happen to me many times and it was just some sensor problem everytime. Does the warning go away after you start your engine ? Anyway if you watn to be safe just top your oil out like everyone else said.

LOL. Yes, just add a quart. The oil warning goes off when you are down a quart. So you should still have 6 of your 7 quarts in the engine.

+1

Relax! It is only showing a liter low. It is not the end of the world and your engine won't blow up because of it. If it is critically low the control electronics will shut the engine down before there is any remote chance of damaging it. Just wait until the dealer opens next and bring it in for an on-the-spot free top up.

R U Serious???
Y'know, you should always use BMW products...I put regular air in the tire once at a gas station instead of BMW air because it was a little low...caused all kinds of trouble. I would have taken it to the dealership, but they were closed.

I've found the oil low warning will go off when starting the car on a nose down incline and keeping it there for a few minutes.

Dude. don't worry.

Same thing happened to me and i've only just covered 6k miles.

If you read the manual it would tell you to add a litre/quart of oil.

Its nothing to worry about.

Just make sure you get the right oil.

After toping up, the oil level will be back at maximum.
